I'm sorry for the long wait, guys. Thank you for sticking with me. Unfortunately with school and work, my updating schedule is irregular, but I will continue updating this novel. I don't plan on stopping this one or any of my other fanfictions no matter how busy my schedule gets.
The sun was settling down in the west and the sky had become stained with gold and purple, the darkness of the night peeking through the east.
At this late hour, the small Beika Shrine should have been empty of any visitors. Yet, right on its doorstep, between the guardian lion-dog statues, there was a shivering woman, a woman that [Name] and the others would easily recognize.
Okino Yoko, the idol they had once gone to help, stood under the shadow created by the shrine. It was such a peaceful scenery, but her lilac and white dress were splattered with red dots. Her wavy hair that fell freely, only a part of it held by a bow, stuck to her sweaty and pale face.
Her eyes were wide open with the blue orbs shrinking and quivering as she blankly stared at something in front of her. On her hands laid a bloody knife, her hands covered in it too.
The source of all that blood laid a couple of steps ahead of her on the tiles that formed the path that led to the shrine. The man was young and handsome, but now, he just laid on the ground with a shocked and frozen expression, not having expected such an ending. Blood pooled on the left side of his dress shirt, showing where the wound was made.
For a long time, Yoko was unable to utter a word. Only her heavy breathing and the wind passing through the trees surrounding the shrine sounding within the area.
As her shaking intensified, the knife fell from her hands and clattered against the ground. "Son'na..." All remaining strength left her body and her legs buckled, letting her fall on her knees. "I didn't mean to kill him......... Iyaaa!!"
"And cut!"
And just like that, the terrified and screaming Yoko changed as if a switch had been flipped. She stopped crying and screaming with the command of the man who should be the director.
Around the director who was holding a megaphone stood quite a number of people. There was a cameraman kneeling on the ground as he recorded the scene, people holding the lights and microphones, and others by some computers, checking the video and audio.
The director waved his megaphone at Yoko, smiling quite happily, "That's all we need. Great job, Yoko."
Receiving the praise, the young woman also smiled after sighing in relief, wiping away the tear drops that hanged by the corners of her eyes. She wasn't the only one who was glad everything was well done with just one take. Her manager, Yamaguchi, looking even more relieved than her.
It had been a while since the case with these two, Yoko and Yamaguchi. Back then, [Name] and the others weren't familiar with Yoko, and it wasn't like they met or kept in contact with each other. But now, meeting again, there was a certain closeness that wasn't seen between simple acquaintances.
"The way they film these dramas is really interesting, isn't it?" Ran had experienced some crazy adventures in her young life, but this was her first time entering the set of a film. Though, in the case of this drama, the director had chosen to go to an actual shrine rather than filming inside a fake one, so there wasn't much of a set.
"Yeah." Conan simply nodded as he sat on a little chair the crew had kindly found for him. Although currently a child, Shinichi was really not too interested in these idol dramas that have nonsensical plots.
