It had been three days already since Shinichi disappeared and since then [Name] had not heard a word. Whether he was alive and busy with a case or he had been truly disposed of by the Organization, there was no way for her to find out currently.

If she asked Gin, that would just make it more obvious to the already suspicious man that she was closer to her "covers" than she had admitted. That would only place Ran and Sonoko in their sights, too.

In the time being, she could only search for clues and wait, wait to hear news. Thankfully, she had her own people who she could trust in to do the job without fear that the Organization would find out.

None of that relaxed her nerves though.

[Name] took in a deep breath as she laid under a tree in the school yard as she waited for Ran to be done with her club activities, gazing up at the calm sky which was the opposite of herself. There wasn't a single cloud up there even though winter was approaching and soon the first snow of the year would fall.

Hugging her knees to her chest, she continued to stare into nothing as her thoughts jumbled around in her head.

Every clue, every word, everything that had happened that night in the theme park continued to run through her brain. Not a single thing escaping her.

Unfortunately, no matter how many times she pondered about it, she couldn't figure with certainty what had happened to that idiot and where he was now.

Sighing, [Name] didn't notice when Ran came to her side and crouched near her. The brunette waving her hand in front of [Name] to gain her attention, "[Name]?! Are you still there?!"

"Huh...?" her green eyes glinted slightly, turning to meet her childhood friend's, "Ran? When did you get here?"

"Ah, mou... I have been calling you for five minutes now." pouted Ran, her cheeks puffed out as she stood up with her fists on her hips to show anger, but she looked more adorable than anything with that face that resembled a squirrel. "You were probably thinking about that mystery otaku again."

Holding a laugh at her friend's funny expression, [Name] stood up and dusted the dirt off her blue uniform skirt, "I'm just worried. It's been three days without any news after all."

"He's probably distracted with one of his cases again. He does it all the time." grumped Ran, hiding her own concern for him. That idiot was annoying as hell, but they had all been friends for years now so there was no way she wasn't the slightest bit anxious about his sudden disappearance. However, Ran knew that a certain someone was in an even worse state, so she could only try to comfort her in such a way.

[Name] grabbed her bag that was laying on the ground as she nodded hesitantly, forcing her lips to curve into a smile, "You might be right..."

Although that's what she said, and although it was true that Shinichi went off on cases from time to time without coming back for a while, the feeling in her gut told her something else entirely. Plus, [Name] wasn't someone who ever believed in coincidences.

People from the Organization showing up at the same time that Shinichi vanished. Not to mention that Shinichi had been suspicious of them back at the roller-coaster.

When all these little pieces were put together, it created a scene that she could only hope had never happened.

To avoid forming any awkwardness, Ran directed the topics of conversation far from the young detective on their way to the Mouri Detective Agency. When they had gotten closer, they had by chance met up with Conan and the three went up to the building together.
