"Wow! Look how fancy it is! Now I see why it's a five-star hotel! This is going to be great!" Ran marveled at the sight before her. The entrance was like a Western palace with soaring ceilings and curved staircases. Not only was the hotel itself fancy, but many of the guests wore suits or long dresses as if they were going to a gala.

Conan and [Name] were beside her, both retaining a calmer attitude. [Name] glanced at her friend from the corner of her eye, unable to keep up with Ran's excitement. "You always react so passionately..."

"Do I? Well, if I like something, I don't mind showing it. Unlike a certain someone."

[Name] pushed away the face getting closer to her. "As if you would be any better in my shoes... Anyhow, this place, in comparison to some of Sonoko's properties..."

Ran sweatdropped. "You're right." When put like that, this hotel didn't appear that special anymore.

Mouri was walking a few steps in front of the trio with his back hunched. With such loud chatter behind him, he couldn't ignore these brats any longer. "Seriously, you kids are way too spoiled. You're only here because the restaurant is in this hotel, got that?"

"Hai! We know!" Ran turned into a good kid, standing just like a student in kindergarten.

Conan ignored their conversation, looking around Mouri to see a figure he had found many times on the news. "Ne, isn't that the lawyer who wants to hire you, Ojisan?"

Following the direction indicated by Conan, they saw a man of average height and build. He had a thick mane of brown hair and a bushy full beard. The man wore a green suit accompanied by a copper tie.

He was presently talking with two other people. One was a woman with long, honey-like hair, and a red pencil skirt and suit jacket. The other was a man with hair that was a lighter shade of brown and a mustache; he wore a suit as well, except his was grey and his tie and button-up shirt were blue.

Mouri had no trouble recognizing the man in the green suit as soon as he saw him. "Oh, yes, that's him. Tatsumi-bengoshi*(attorney)."

Tatsumi Souhei, 48-years-old, to be more precise. He was an attorney with some renown and had many large corporations as clients. But despite his fame, Tatsumi chose not to rent or buy office space for himself and instead preferred to simply use a hotel room as his office.

Since Tatsumi was speaking with either clients or colleagues, Mouri and the others stayed back and waited for him to finish before approaching him.

As this was their first meeting, they politely introduced themselves before taking the elevator to Tatsumi's office. "Your great detective work is highly admired, even within our judicial circles."

Mouri scratched the back of his head with some embarrassment. Though, considering who his wife was, he'd rather his name remained as far away as possible from that circle. "No, no. My work doesn't begin to compare to yours. All of my groups know about you, too. It's true. But having your office in this posh hotel is really impressive."

Who those groups Mouri referred to were, no one had any idea. And luckily, Tatsumi didn't ask. "Tricks like this are necessary when dealing with corporations."

[Name] glanced to the side. I've heard the concept of office hoteling, but this is my first time hearing of an attorney who uses a hotel room as a permanent office. It's quite interesting.

Upon reaching Tatsumi's floor, he led them to his office. Tatsumi opened the door, letting the four guests go in first. The first thing that caught their attention was the window on the opposite wall and the view outside. It was only after that that they could give the room a look.
