"What?! There's going to be more murders!!"

[Name] waited for Mouri to take a breath before speaking calmly. Not the slightest ripple forming on her countenance. "That's right. It's written in the letter."

Ran and Mouri looked down at the paper he was clutching on both hands. Disbelief and panic written all over their faces. "You mean, this letter I got last week?"

Hands in her pockets, [Name] nodded, "Un. When that person wrote 'the shadows will again begin to disappear' that is most likely what they meant. Most likely, there will be at least two more murders."

"H-How do you know?" stuttered Mouri.

"Because of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. That symphony has three movements, but the tape only had the first movement. Therefore..." answered [Name], her words trailing off at the end, but it was enough for them to understand.

Narrowing his eyes, Mouri looked down at the letter, "I see... The song played by the pianist Asou Keiji as he burned to death 12 years ago and the song the previous mayor, Kameyama, played right before his death... both were also Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. So, if that plays again people will die?!"

"I believe so."

Mouri crushed the letter. He might not be a great detective, as he called himself, but he had once been a police officer. To allow for more people to be harmed under his watch was something he had no intention of allowing. "You guys go back to the inn! I'm going back to the Community Center!"

By the time Ran called out to him, Mouri had already sprinted off, leaving a trail of dust behind him.

"We can call the inn later." Conan's voice turned surprisingly firm, not leaving space for discussion, "Let's go to the Community Center, too."

As the trio headed after the man, Ran turned to her friend, "But that was really amazing, [Name]. You figured that out just like Shinichi."

[Name] laughed it off, waving her hand, "I'm not as good as him. That was just because Beethoven is one of my favorites. I thought it was a bit weird, so I mentioned it."

"That's great. For a moment there, I thought you had been contaminated by that mystery nerd." teased Ran, Conan's brow twitching, Contaminated...

Contaminated wasn't exactly the word she would use, but Ran wasn't entirely wrong. Her skills when it came to solving mysteries were just as good as Shinichi's. She just preferred not to use them since it was better to remain lowkey with respect to her abilities. If it wasn't because of the current circumstances, she wouldn't have mentioned what she noticed.

When it came to the other cases she had been dragged into because of Shinichi, the victim had already died and nothing would change that. Therefore, it was fine to remain silent and let the others figure it out. Shinichi was more than capable of doing so, too. If by any chance, things got too difficult for them and the perpetrator might escape, it was fine to give a little hint.

However, it wasn't the same this time. If she did nothing, then more people would die. It wasn't the time to worry about herself at all.

[Name] sent Ran a grin, glancing at the little one from the corner of her eyes, "Anyhow, even if I hadn't noticed, I'm sure someone else would have."

Feeling the heated gaze on his back, Conan nervously laughed, "Y-You're right, Kogoro Ojisan would have definitely noticed. He's a great detective, after all."

"Mm-hmm." [Name] moved her eyes away, not saying anything else.

Shinichi couldn't even sigh in relief. He had already screwed himself over too badly. At the very least, luckily [Name] had figured out there would be more murders and mentioned it. Otherwise, he had no idea how he would hint it to Mouri without being suspected by her again.
