The Kurokawa Mansion in Tokyo, Japan.

"As Kurokawa-shi sat at his computer, having a drink, someone hit and killed him from behind. The weapon was undoubtedly the bronze statue lying next to him." Inspector Megure crouched on the hardwood floor, right beside the body.

The victim was 62-year-old Kurokawa Daizo, the Director of the Kurokawa Hospital. Just from the look of this mansion, it appeared like his hospital was doing pretty well.

Since he was inside his own home, the man had worn a robe on top of his pajamas and gone to his office to work comfortably. His L-shaped desk was made of wood and it faced toward the windows, away from the door.

After being struck on the back of the head, the victim fell off his chair and onto the floor along with his computer's keyboard which lay perfectly in front of his body.

To the corpse's left was the tiny statue of a woman made of bronze. They wouldn't be certain until the medical examiner compared the statue to the wound, but the statue was most likely the murder weapon.

Inspector Megure continued speaking, mainly directing his inquiries to Mouri Kogoro, "But this is what I don't understand. While it appears to be a dying message, what does 'JUN' mean?"

Inspector Megure stood up and looked down at the screen of the computer. All other windows had been closed and there was only a notepad open on the screen where "JUN" was typed in capital letters using the English alphabet.

As soon as Megure finished speaking, Mouri chuckled, gaining the attention of everyone in the room, "It identifies the culprit, loud and clear."

"Say what?!"

"What's more, the killer is one of those three!" Mouri pointed toward the three civilians by the door. One was the victim's wife, the other was his son from his first marriage, and the third was the housekeeper.

Apart from the three people who were pointed at as suspects and Megure, the usual trio that followed Mouri everywhere were also here, all of them experiencing the same amount of surprise. Albeit each one for different reasons.

Conan, for instance, was very pleasantly surprised, He's on the ball for once!

[Name] didn't show as much of a reaction as the others. More than anything, she was curious about whether Mouri would solve this case awake like he did at the Benkei Hot Spring Resort when his college friend turned out to be a murderer who killed another one of his friends.

Mouri looked at each of the suspects, calling their names as he did. "His wife, Kurokawa Mina-san..."

The woman snapped her eyes wide, her lips that were painted red forming an O. Her mahogany brown hair was curled and her nails had been recently manicured. Her lilac dress was simple and elegant, contrasting with her bright colored earrings.

She was actually Kurokawa Daizo's second wife, a woman half his age who had just turned 32 this year. Despite her husband's corpse being a couple of steps away from her, she hadn't shed a single tear since the very beginning when she talked to the police.

Mouri moved to the second suspect without giving the widow a chance to say anything, "...his eldest son, Kurokawa Daisuke-san..."

The man was four years older than his father's current wife as he had been born from the first wife. He had already turned 36 and was a physician. There were wrinkles forming under his eyes and forehead already, and his dark hair was becoming lighter. Just like his stepmother, he just stood there calmly in his green suit, without showing much grief. It wasn't until Mouri called his name that he ground his teeth and showed his anger.
