*TW: drinking, mention of drug use*
As soon as the bathroom door had slammed shut, George stood frozen, eyes brimming with tears.
He knew he had been wrong to lie to Dream about where he had gone, but it still seemed like Dream was overreacting. He seemed different to George, irritable and angry, a completely different person than what George was used to.
And he had said that George barely knew him; which left the brunette feeling confused and sad. Sure, he didn't know everything about him, but he knew him well enough to know that he wasn't acting like himself.
George only hoped that he was simply speaking out of anger or jealousy, possibly made worse by a bad hangover.
Either way, George figured it was best if they both had some space. So he took a deep breath, willing his tears to disappear, and grabbed his jacket and phone, quickly exiting the bedroom.

George spent the remainder of his day with Niki, hanging out at her house until it was finally time to head over to Quackity's party.
He had been extra careful all day to avoid the topic of Dream, not wanting to make himself feel any worse about their situation. And when they arrived at the party that night, George was feeling excited for once. He was looking forward to hanging out with his friends and keeping himself distracted, a welcome change to the nerves he usually felt during any social gathering.
George spent the first hour of the party drinking and dancing with Niki, Sapnap, Karl, and Quackity. He was feeling good, laughing and joking without a care in the world.
Now, he was standing with Niki, Karl and Sapnap, drink in hand as he focused in on a conversation about Minecraft, which, as it turned out, they all enjoyed playing. He was mid sentence, arguing about the best mob type with Sapnap, when he saw Dream being pulled across the room by a guy he had never seen before.
The guy was holding Dream by the wrist, leading him towards the kitchen, a drunken smile on his face as he looked back at the blonde. And Dream followed behind him without question, obviously familiar and comfortable with him.
Instantly, George knew that this had to be the reason why Dream didn't want him at the party last night. He was jealous of Wilbur, so he went out and found someone else. What other reason could there be?
George felt a pit form in his stomach, waves of anger crashing into waves of jealousy. He should have expected it, really, since Dream had already told him he didn't do relationships.
But George had convinced himself that that would change at some point, that Dream would see they were good together. Maybe he had been wrong though, too hopeful for his own good.
"George? You good?" Sapnap's voice pulled him back to reality, a hand waving in front of his face and bringing his attention back to the group surrounding him.
He managed a smile, nodding as he said, "yeah, sorry. I just...I saw Dream but I didn't know he was gonna be here tonight."
The group followed George's line of sight, to where they could just barely see Dream and his friend taking shots through the arched kitchen doorway.
Karl turned back to face George, an unreadable expression on his face as he quietly said, "oh, and he's with Fundy. Interesting choice."
George raised an eyebrow, instantly intrigued by Karl's tone of voice. He let his eyes drift back towards the kitchen, where Fundy now had his arm draped over Dream's shoulders, the two looking much too close for George's liking.
