Jimin's POV

I looked at her while dancing, but she was only silent the whole time.

"So.. I heard you are from a family of farmers." I initiated a conversation instead.

"Y-Yes."

Did she just stutter? Is she really that nervous?

"You know what? Feel comfortable."

Jennie's POV

How would I feel comfortable?

When the man dancing with me is handsome.

What will he think of me if he sees me behind my mask?

Still, I wanna go with the flow.

We kept dancing as he held my waist, and my other hand on his shoulder

"Nice to meet you.. I'm Jimin." He leaned in closer to whisper.

I felt a pit in my stomach... and shivers down my spine.

And the fact that he danced with me all of a sudden gave me more confusion.

"I'm Jennie Kim." I managed to introduce myself without stuttering.

Dance Music:

Author's POV

After the music, a girl walked towards them.

She then purposely bumped
Jennie.

"Jiminie... can we dance?" The girl blinked a couple of times and Jimin could only look away in frustration.

"Go away."

Then the girl pouted leaving Jimin no choice as they were in the center and people are watching.

"Aish... fine"

This time, Jennie was left on her own.

She walked towards the corner and watched as Jimin danced with another girl.

Jennie's POV

I looked at them and realized that maybe Jimin was after all someone who is being chased by girls.

I grabbed a mini bread, slightly uncovered my face with the mask and just shove it down my mouth as I watched them.

Then I saw him looking at me.

Maybe if he'd see me behind my mask, he'd not have any courage to look at me the same way.

I diverted my gaze elsewhere by looking at the decorations of the venue, and most especially... the big chandelier.

But my eyes narrowed when I find it suddenly swinging.

Then the rope from it just got untangled.

I quickly stood firmly, then the guests gasped and some were screaming as the chandelier was now slowly giving up..

Jimin's POV

I heard the guests screaming and shouting, then I heard a loud creaking above.

That's when I realized that it was the chandelier barely holding on.

I instantly pushed the girl I danced with, and saw the others running away.

My eyes widened as the chandelier is now giving up.

I don't know what to do I stood there frozen with no more presence of mind when suddenly I felt a strong force pushing me.

I fell on the ground.

Author's POV

Jimin saw the girl who pushed him away from the chandelier.

Jennie..

Jennie was wounded on her arm due to the glass.

At this point, as she was standing her mask actually slipped off.

And that's when she realized... Jimin saw her behind the mask.

Jennie's POV

As I stood up my eyes widened.

Jimin's eyes was on me..

He looked at me with an unidentifiable expression on his face.

Was it disgust with pure mixture of regret for dancing with me?

I don't know.

I don't have any options now except but to run away.

I quickly took my mask on the ground and ran away.

Jimin's POV

So now I know why she was wearing a full mask.

"Jimin! Jimin! Are you alright?" My mom rushed towards me as she helped me up.

"Mom..."

"You're lucky that girl saved you. I saw her running away... was it because of... h-her face?"

"You saw her face?"

"Yes... it's deformed."

"I know... that's Jennie Kim."

"Oh... I see.... Look, we'll thank her no matter what. For now, let's go."

Author's POV

The other guests started going home as the venue staffs were there cleaning up the mess.

Jimin was being pulled by his mother when he suddenly pulled away from her grasp.

"I'll thank her right here right now." He said.

Then he turned around and looked back.

Jimin's POV

I can't just leave her out there like a jerk.

I know that she now thinks of me as a bastard disgusted by her appearance.

But she was wrong....

I too experienced being bullied for my appearance when i was in middle school.

I was a fat guy back then.

But I worked out and took better care of myself.

And even accepted myself for who am I.

So why can't I accept her?...

This is the most fun part for me....

Jennie's POV

I feel cold right now.. I'm outside the venue in the garden area.

I hugged my knees tightly as I sat down behind the bushes.

I'll only get out if I'm ready again.

Why am I so unfortunate? I suck.

"You don't have to hide your face from everyone." I suddenly heard a voice and to my surprise, when I looked up it was him.

The guy I ran away from.

He was smiling and offering his hand to me.

Is this real? Or am I just imagining things?

"Come on!" He instead pulled my arm forcibly, helping me stand up.

I stood there, I'm like a child scratching my head, feeling lost.

"Why did you follow me here?" I asked him

"I wanna thank you and say... You look beautiful tonight."

Just like that my heart pounded unusually.

I wanna believe that he's just flattering me, but I could see the sincerity in his eyes.

I guess I can't run away from this guy anymore.
