Radha sighed, her son and his friend were trouble. She knew it the moment she saw them. Not a single second passed without the two yelling or jumping around the house. Her son had told her about him fondly, he meant dearer to him than his life.
Her heart broke when she Dhananjay told her about Guru Dron. She wondered what kind of parents were Dhananjay and Drauni's parents, who left their own child?
Ofcourse it wasn't a true fact, but a woman blinded by the affection she had for her child would see it that way.'Poor boy, doesn't even eat properly,' Radha thought as she force-fed Ashwatthama, he only ate seven chappatis and only three handful of rice, he didn't even eat the sweet she had made.
Arjun pressed his lips together, trying to not laugh looking at Drauni's face, the eight year old boy looked like he was trying to adjust the food in his liver and lungs as well. The inhuman appetite Radha thought for a child of eight was double the amount of food for a grown-up adult.
"This is enough to feed a whole village Kaki," Ashwatthama spoke. He kept his hand on his stomach, trying to calm his senses. He never had a proper meal ever, and the sudden outburst of food had upset his stomach. He could bear the pain of an empty stomach but not of an overfilled one, but there was no way in the world he would say that infront of Adhirath and Radha.
Adhirath sighed, he looked at his wife, "Radha." He whispered trying to gain her attention, but she was busy feeding the boys.
"Radha," a little more loudly, his voice shook her. She hurriedly turned to him, "Yes," as she took a step towards him, her balanced shifted and she slipped.· · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·
Silence prevailed as the doctor checked upon Radha, the atmosphere reeked of worry and tension. The tension, however, didn't remain long as they doctor came out with a smile.
Radha followed back with small steps, her cheeks tainted with red hue. She was going to be a mother, again! Another child, a boy or girl, the happiness was too much to be contained in words.
Amidst these happy moments, Dhananjay had his lips curved downwards, "Are you not happy?" Adhirath asked, was his son feeling insecure?
"I'm happy, but sad as well as I won't be able to meet my brother or sister," Dhananjay replied, looking at his mother.
Radha definitely didn't want her eldest son to leave, not at this moment, but at what cost? At the cost of Dhananjay's education? No. "Dhananjay, he or she will be always there in your heart."
Radha's words assured him, "Mother, I will be the best brother in the world," he declared, his teeth showing up.
"Why not," Radha smiled. She wanted both her children together, but maybe it wasn't possible. And there was no way she would let Dhananjay sacrifice his education.
"But what will be his or her name?" Ashwatthama questioned.
Radha smiled, "Won't it be good if their elder brother name them?"
