Krishna merely laughed, the flustered face of Arjun was worth it. The moment Arjun spoke the young girl he had met, Krishna left no stones untouched to tease him.
"Pranipaat Dwarkadhish, pranipaat mahoday," A soldier from the palace stood in front of them, "AyodhyaNaresh Brihadbala has invited you to the palace," The sudden news of Establisher of Dwaraka being in Avadh had startled the King, he sent his best soldiers to invite him and his companion.
There was no way Krishna would deny the invitation, "that would be our pleasure," He replied back to soldier.
Brihatkshya, the Yuvraj of Avadh stood at the gates to welcome them, "Welcome to Ayodhya Dwarkadhish, mahoday," He said, he still was unaware of Arjun's identity.
"He is my friend, Arjun," Krishna introduced, making Arjun look at him in disbelief. Travelling with him was a thing, but to introduced among Kings as friend was another. Being a Surputr he wasn't used to such things.
The amount of respect he received, Arjun kept wondering if he had come alone, would they treat him the same or differently?
"Vasudev, Mahoday Arjun, meet my sister, Nayantara," Brihatkshaya introduced, surprising Arjun, she was the same woman who was playing with villagers, he assumed that she would be an ordinary girl like him, but she was a Princess.
His dreams crashed down like gasses, he was a sut and she was a princess. That was enough for him to ignore her like plague.
Arjun experienced the best hospitality in four days at Avadh. Being treated as a Royal, Arjun couldn't help but try to adjust. "Why do I even have to live as Royal Madhav, I am not one," But Krishna shook his head saying, "what about future? This might help,"
Madhav and his web of words, Arjun couldn't decipher the meaning but let it go, after all Krishna wanted nothing but best for him.
Their days in Avadh were limited, and so was the patience of Avadhi, the princess of Avadh. Their last day at Avadh, he found himself dragged to a room by a soft pair of hands. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice hinted her anger which she was trying to control.
"Shivshisya Arjun," He humbly replied, Radheya &Aadhirathi, his unspoken words.
Her eyes displayed fury, she took her hidden dagger from her waist, keeping it on his neck, "Who do you think you are? I know, you ignoring me, WHY?" She questioned, blazing like fire."Why does it matter? Who am I to you?" His words were simple, yet complicated, but nothing she wasn't prepared for. She herself had the question, and now when she had her answers. "My world, you mean a my whole world, I love you," She confessed, putting up a brave facade, hiding her nervousness!
Arjun chuckled, out of every reaction she had prepared herself, this was something she didn't. "Why are you laughing?" She questioned.
"You are a princess, I am a sutputr, and a sutputr can never be a princess's love. I am just a game princess. You may like me now, but the truth is that I am son of sut, and I can never be loved by you forever."
Though he was chuckling, the seriousness in voice didn't go unnoticed."That is not the truth, I truly love you," She confessed, again.
"One can't fall in love in days, you are just fascinated by me and nothing else." And he left, yes he left.
Without hearing a word, breaking two hearts.
Perhaps, that was the best for her!!"I should probably not think about her, I must prepare for the war," He thought to himself, he couldn't waste anymore time.
"Madhav, why have we come here? I have a war to fight, we must leave," And the all knowing God agreed. The aim of this visit was over, he was in live, and so was she.
"Parth, the war, that you are going, I wish to come with you. I promise, I won't raise my weapons, but I wish to come with you, perhaps as your charioteer?"
"That would be my pleasure,"Nayantara was angry, but one thing that hurt her more than his rejection was the discrimination, the only reason she was rejected was due to differences in their status.
She glanced as she watched him leave with Krishna, he left after a prahar she had confessed, was it because of her he left? 'You left because you love me?' she thought, as he refused to even look at her.
The fact that she knew, his eyes sparkled when he looked at her, but the sparkle vanished like smoke when he became aware of her identity. "You said you were game Arjun, and now I shall show how it's played," she whispered to herself, eyeing his disappearing figure.
The Lion is dangerous, but a wounded lion more.
Chandana, the one who was fragrant like sandalwood, the Princess of Ayodhya, she was lioness, but a wounded one. And there was no way she would let him go."You have hurt me, rejected me, because of this society, and I will hurt this society by turning your rejection in acceptance. I will show them that love cannot be bounded by these shackles, and if I can't be yours, then I shall be of no one" She said, she was the Princess of Avadh, the daughter of Raghukul, and it's saying goes as, "Raghukul reet sada chali aayi, praan jaaye par vachan na jaaye,"

"Parth, do you remember the story of Devi Sati and Mahadev?" Krishna asked casually.
"Which one?"
"When Devi falls in love with Mahadev, but he denies knowing that she die after marriage, he thinks that he protecting her." Krishna started, "Yes Madhav. Mahadev denies again and again, but Devi Sati is adamant. But in the end, they both got married because it was in the destiny, and no one can change it."
"True, but not completely. Devi Sati married Mahadev because she loved him, her love was true and pious, and that changed the destiny itself." Krishna said.
"True love can change destiny!"
The words kept ringing in his ears, and he just wondered that 'Was his love to win against society and to have her in his life?'
