The day before February 14th
I had arranged everything.
I wrote you a letter.
I bought you a ring.
Painted an awful watercolor background and drew a cartoon version of you.
The ring turned out not to be your size.
The drawing fell out the watercolor.
But the bracelets remained.
Unbroken.
Nothing like us.
We've been showered in broken promises.
We're covered in scars and bruises.
But
I didn't give a fuck.
I wanted you with scars and all.
I was ready to give you my scarred heart.
Because I knew with you it'd never fall apart.
The safest I have ever felt has been with you by my side
You're scared.
I'm nervous.
But I'm excited for this story to begin.
Even with damaged skin.
