It's been a long time.
I don't feel rage.
I can now read your name without cursing it.
The way everything went down wasn't right.
Looks like we both know that now.
I hope that everything works out for you in the future.
I hope you have a marvelous time in college.
That you make a hundred new friends, and that you feel welcomed.
I hope that we can someday meet again.
I hope we can grab a coffee and talk about how stressed college is making us.
I wish you and your new person the best of wishes.
We got lost in the pettiness that comes with heartbreak.
We thought this hatred and pain would last for evermore.
But it turned out not to be that way.
We both grew up and grew apart, and time somehow brought us back together.
Like casual friends who check on each other every two weeks.
Thank you.
For everything you taught me.
I'll forever be grateful with you for how you took care of me when I needed it.
I hope everyday you wake up and have a reason to smile.
I hope every assignment you turn in gets an A.
I hope we can look back at our love story and laugh.
At how stupidly we managed things.
But how innocently we loved each other.
I hope I'm an ex worth a funny story you can tell to your friends during your sleepover.
And I'm satisfied with this... weird and beautiful closure.
Because.
Without our past.
We couldn't have arrived so wondrously
And brutally.
Here.
We're not even half of who we used to be.
And we're now off to be...
