Wei Wuxian was uncharacteristically silent when he dropped down clumsily to lean against Wei Xinyi who was skimming through the letters Elder Liu had sent her of the emergency conference. As expected, the Sects just pettily argued, didn't reach any conclusion and Elder Liu just diplomatically stayed silent as she had asked him to. Wei Xinyi's goal was clear. She wanted the cultivation world to owe her Sect. Hence, even if the truth about Wei Changze being the spy is revealed she will have the upper hand.
But what's wrong with her oh-so-dramatic brother now?
"A-Ying, baobei?" Wei Xinyi stopped work to look at her sulking brother better.
"A-Xin..... You... Do you..." Wei Wuxian actually fumbled for words.
"What is it? Did anything happen?" Wei Xinyi patted his head.
"I saw you. Talking. There. To him." Wei Wuxian looked away ashamed of his insecurity?
"Him? You don't mean Lan Wangji,do you?" Wei Xinyi silently smirked.
"Why are you calling him that! You used to call him Second Young Master Lan!!" Wei Wuxian indignantly spluttered, eyes wide.
Wei Xinyi snorted. Seriously? Says the one who very shamelessly calls him by his birth name!
"Fine! Fine! What about Second Young Master Lan?" She smiled as he pouted again.
"What did you talk? He never talks to anyone! He is always quiet. He is still ignoring me!! Even though...." Wei Wuxian paused, a sad look in his silver eyes.
At times, Wei Xinyi's heart ached for this precious baby, seriously!
"..... Even though we are Soulmates." Wei Wuxian whispered the last part as he was fiercely hugged by his sister.
"I though our A-Ying was past it, hmm?" Wei Xinyi asked, well aware with the answer.
"How can I? Lan Zhan is so good. Why would I not want to be friends and acknowledge the bond?" Wei Wuxian pouted.
"Hmmmm.... That is easy." Wei Xinyi chuckled letting him go.
"How??" Wei Wuxian asked, evidently confused and hopeful.
"Then A-Ying has to meet me in the back mountains after the lantern festival. Ok?" Wei Xinyi told him.
Wei Wuxian was confused but nodded. Just then a gong rang, signalling it was evening and the moon was about to rise. The lantern festival was just about to start.
She hoped Lan Wangji wouldn't mess up everything! She and Yuwang didn't work their ass off the entire morning for nothing!!

Lan Wangji fumbled with his hands beneath his sleeves.
This is it.
The festival is about to start.
He must ask Wei Ying.
He must....
Oh. Oh. Oh no.
The disciple robes did no justice to Wei Ying. He truly looked ethereal in his vibrant red and black. His colours.....
Lan Wangji watched as Wei Wuxian dragged his sister across the field who had furrowed her brows in reluctance. Lan Wangji wondered what troubled her. Did she not trust him with Wei Ying? Surely, she wouldn't back off their plans?
Wei Xinyi was not happy.
This forsaken execution grounds again? Though it was decorated with lights and everything, it was still the execution grounds. This ground however was not actually a part of Cloud Recesses. The ancestors had made sure that the ground was right outside the barriers of Cloud Recesses yet close enough to be considered a part of it. Because Killing was forbidden in the Cloud Recesses!
