Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji took their own sweet time roaming around with no particular aim in mind. They reached the meadows from where the rabbits eagerly came hopping out. Wei Wuxian giggled pleasantly when Lan Wangji settled one on his lap. He stroked the fur, lost in his thoughts.
Lan Wangji took his time ingraining Wei Wuxian's face in his mind. Three months later the guest disciples will all graduate. Lan Wangji was not even sure when he would get to meet Wei Wuxian next. He continued to look at him feeling bold for once.
Wei Wuxian felt Lan Wangji staring at him and his cheeks reddened. This was nothing new. Lately whenever Lan Zhan was closer Wei Wuxian felt his heart beat loudly. His cheeks reddened whenever he heard that voice calling out to him. Lan Wangji sure has changed a lot since they became friends.
Everything was dreamy and nice. Except Lan Zhan has someone he liked. He frowned sadly whenever he thought of it.
"Lan Zhan this is nice but don't you have to go back to your family's Banquet," Wei Wuxian questioned.
"I want to be with Wei Ying. Alone," Lan Wangji said, face straight.
"Lan Zhan! How are you saying such things with that face!!!" Wei Wuxian squealed. Thankfully it was dark. Otherwise Lan Wangji would have seen his face was as red as a tomato.
"Lan Zhan, I will be gone three months later," Wei Wuxian said leaning closer to Lan Wangji.
"Will write to Wei Ying," Lan Wangji promised. Wei Wuxian laughed happily boldly using the other's shoulder to keep his head on. Lan Wangji stiffened at his action before a hand supported his back. Up close, Wei Wuxian could smell the distinct fragrance of sandalwood from him. He inhaled the scent snuggling closer.
This was nice. Wei Wuxian could get used to this.
"Wei Ying, Fuqin talked to me about our.... Thread," Lan Wangji hesitantly began.
"What about it?" Wei Wuxian tensed up immediately.
"He said we should acknowledge it," Lan Wangji finished nervously.
".......Oh." Wei Wuxian grew silent.
He didn't want to be sworn brothers only now. His feelings for the other man was not simple admiration. He felt happy with him. Peaceful. He liked spending time with Lan Zhan. He was unsure about what exactly he was feeling right now.
"Lan Zhan, I ..." Wei Wuxian paused suddenly, clutching his chest. There was a burning sensation on his chest and without thinking Wei Wuxian ran.
"Wei Ying?" Lan Wangji hurried after him taking his name.
A frantic Wei Wuxian just burst into the banquet where everyone stared at him. He frantically searched for hai sister who was in a similar state of disarray looking for him as well.
"A-Xin..." Wei Wuxian ran upto her who was panicking.
"What's going on?" Song Lan approached the two.
"Someone is trying to break into our barriers. Forcefully." Wei Wuxian brought up his talisman which was burning in a golden flame.
Wei Xinyi saw red. Who the fuck now????
"What??? Who can break Yilling Wei's barriers if not a Wei?" Jin Guangshan was excited at the immenint news but hid it well.
"It's not broken. Someone is just TRYING, Sect Leader Jin," Wei Xinyi gritted her teeth.
"Let's go," Xiao Xingchen said solemnly and the other three nodded.
"Young Master Wei, should I send disciples to accompany you?" Qingheng-Jun offered.
