Chapter 10 - Zayn's Point Of View
"Zayn, game ka ba?"
I glanced at Trevor before nodding. Goodness, he's courting the valedictorian in the building next to us, the graduating highschooler. He needs us for his 'operation'.
"Dude! Galingan mo mamaya, ah. Dadating si Miss Crushie mo! Ayieeee!" Lawrence teased me.
I glared at him and shook my head.
But it was true, I did have a crush on her. I just didn't want her and the whole campus to know. I wanted to protect her image. Lalo na't madaming nagkakagusto sa 'min, I didn't want the other girls to hate her.
But if that happens, they don't know what I'm capable of.
"Lawrence, ayusin mo 'yung beat! Puta, puro ka harot!" suway ni Trevor kay Law, his beat was off. Maybe because he was preoccupied by some shit.
We were rehearsing for later. I'm a hundred percent sure that Tatianna will be there. I just had to do something that would draw her attention to me.
"Napakatorpe mo," lumapit sa 'kin si Law at binatukan ako.
"Shut up." I gave him a judgy look.
I had to pull some strings so that I could get closer to her. I just can't seem to talk to her. Parang ang hirap niyang maabot.
"Dad, the cafeteria needs a renovation, I think. Sometimes 'pag umuulan, may tumutulo sa roof. Tsaka kapag-"
"Okay, son. I will ask them to renovate it," I mentally celebrated when my father agreed. He was talking to someone over the phone, so he just agreed so that I could shut up.
"Yes!" I mouthed and closed the door behind me.
When I catch her staring at me from time to time, I just pretend that I don't feel it so that I could keep my cool. Tang ina, hindi naman ako torpe, ah!
"Good evening," I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling when her sister accidentally slipped and exposed her.
Our family attended a dinner at their house. I didn't know that my parents were close to them! I guess the universe was on my side.
Kahit na hindi ako nagsasalita buong dinner, I can feel my heart wanting to escape from my chest.
When she knew that I was smoking, I tried to stop myself from doing it again. Even though it was my guilty pleasure, I knew that it was a bad habit. Ngayon ay may rason na ako para tumigil.
"Avery is a good girl. I like her for you!" Mom said right after we left Avery's house. She was so approving of her to the point that she always mentions her name every chance she gets.
"Yes, Tito Rohan?" I instantly answered my phone when Tati's father called.
[Do you know how to golf?]
"Uhm, opo?"
[Uhuh, as you should. Are you free today? Do you want to go golfing with us? I am with my eldest daughter.]
I agreed and rushed to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Habang bumababa ng hagdan ay sinusuot ko ang sapatos ko. Buti na lang at hindi ako nadapa. I took Dad's golfing equipment and ran so that I could get to my car faster.
I pursed my lips whenever Tati gets the turn. She kept on saying that her hands were hurting, kaya palagi s'yang sumasablay. I did not want to embarass her so I just kept my mouth shut.
When we were eating breakfast together, they were speaking in Korean so I did not understand a single thing!
I was as nervous as her when we first rode on my motorcycle together. Hindi ko nga binilisan para hindi siya kabahan. I could feel her heartbeat.
