For The Money

- Dallas and Hannah get into a lot of trouble

- Usually because if you pick a fight with one Winston, the other is hiding nearby, ready to beat your ass

- This also extends to the police department of Tulsa

- Dallas gets arrested, and Hannah books it to the station so she can cuss out a bunch of pigs while they try to lock up her brother

- Dallas does the same

- Alas, getting arrested also means needing to pay bail

- The Winstons are broke

- So Hannah talks Buck into letting her work in the bar for fifteen cents an hour

- She does this while Dal is in jail so he can't talk her out of it

- At first, Buck only lets her work during the day

- So there are no really creepy people chumming around

- But Hannah likes having money, and Buck likes the extra help

- She usually wipes down tables and cleans glasses

- And reminds Buck how much she hates Hank Williams

- "If I have to listen to "your cheating heart" one more time, I will smash my head against this table."

- They end up humming along together though

- Three days in Buck asks her to stick around for a night shift

- He tries to keep an eye on her but he has the attention span of a gerbil on LSD

- Hannah's just chilling behind the bar, trying to make drinks when Buck is running through the door with bottles of  bootlegged moonshine

- "I forgot I owe this guy some booze! Watch the bar!"

- Everything's going fine, most people are too drunk to start any real trouble

- Until some guy starts talking to her

- "Hey baby, don't you think you're a little young to be here?"

- He keeps reaching for her hands and saying really awful things

- Hannah just stays behind the bar, lowkey trying not to cry

- "Listen doll, I know you're too young to even be in this dump. So, if you do something for me, I won't go talkin' to the cops about how Merrill is employing underage girls, m'kay?"

- This creep fucking lunges at her and grabs her arm

- Everyone is too wasted to notice

- "This is what happens when little girls go to bars alone"

- Well, almost everyone is too wasted to notice

- "Who said she was alone, you creepy fuck?"

- Tim was keeping a very close eye on Hannah once Buck left

- People are starting to notice what's happening

- A lot of guys are already drunk and angry so when Tim drags the guy outside, they follow

- The creep literally ended up in the hospital

- They may be greasers, but they do not hesitate to beat up a creep hitting on a child

- Tim fucking yells at Buck when he comes back for leaving her alone

- Buck feels so bad

- That was the last nightshift she worked for a while

- But now that she has money, Hannah spoils the hell out of Ponyboy

- Movies? Done. The Dingo? Done. Want a coke? I got you, babe.

- Pony feels kinda bad that he can't spoil his girlfriend

- So Hannah hides money in the pocket of his sweaters and jeans

- Pony smiles like an idiot

- He's so happy he can treat his girlfriend

- Darry is the only one who knows and thinks it's adorable

- He is a little concerned about where she's getting this money though

- Hannah has two wine bottles stashed under her bed

- Both are filled with bills and change

- One for savings, the other for bail

- Dallas has no idea and is 63% sure his sister is a hooker

- Or involved in some other ~funky~ business

- But hasn't built up the nerve to ask yet

- Buddy knows he's gonna get slapped

- Hannah lowkey likes spending time with Buck again

- Buck highkey likes spending time with her
