Picking up right where we left in chapter 10
The seconds went by as if they were minutes whilst Gabie was looking at Sebastian's phone, waiting anxiously for Scarlett to send the numbers... Not knowing how to handle the suspense anymore, Gabie decided that it was taking too long and she would find her way back by herself.
"Okay you know what, I can't be that far, I'll find my way back! I don't want to keep you here for too long! Thank you though." She said as she gave Sebastian his phone and twisted on her heels, about to walk away.
He immediately put his hand on her shoulder, just for a split second to spin her around, effortlessly. "I'm not in a hurry, there's no rush." He said looking straight into her eyes.
His reassuring words helped Gabie calm down. A little. She felt a bit guilt, ruinning his morning run with her little misadventure. She sat down on the side of the side walk and crossed her arms above her knees. Patience was usually one of her strength, but right now with Sebastian right in front of her, her nerves and patience were being put to the test.
"Hey, there you go!" Seb handed his phone back to Gabie as soon as she sat down, so she quickly jumped back up and saw that Scarlett had sent a phone number...
"Hi Ashley? This is Gabie, did I wake you up?" Gabie asked with a concerned expression knowing that she must of went to bed pretty late last night.
"Hi, don't worry, are you still here? Everything okay?" Ashley seemed surprised. Obviously.
"I'm fine, I'm- I'll explain later... Uh, would you mind texting the address of the beach house to the number I'm calling you from, please?"
"Of course! Where are you, do you need us to come pick you up?" Ashley was very intrigued and concerned now.
"Don't worry I'll be fine, I'm jogging! See you in a few minutes, thank you!" Gabie said before hanging up and handing Seb his phone for the last time.
A little ringtone went off signalling an incoming text message, it was Ashley. Fortunately, she was quicker than Scarlett. Seb read the message first. "Oh I know that street. It's on the way to my parents house... Come on, I'll walk with you." He gestured her to follow him.
"Thank you!" Gabie gladly accepted his offer, while trying to catch up to him. His pace was fast.
"My pleasure" a little chuckled coming from his nose when he saw her trying to catch up to him, so he slowed down a bit. "So, I believe last time we spoke, you had a job interview... At a school, right?" Seb initiated the conversation. Impressive that he remembered, considering how hammered he got that night.
