8. I-

I grunted softly as I dragged the bag of Malachite back up the hill. I really should have thought about the fact that I went downhill to get rocks a bit harder but hey, ADHD, right? I paused after a moment as the realization that my ADHD had acted up and then groaned; I didn't have any of my medication for any of my mental illnesses and disorder so everyone, including me, was going to have to deal with it unless Senku could manage to make ADHD/depression and anxiety medication and keep it coming.

I huffed a bit as I dropped the back and snorted: before me was Senku huffing and puffing like he just ran cross country in a matter of minutes. I giggled as I walked over to him.

"All this just from picking wolfsbane? Oh, honey, how have you survived this long?"

I smirked as I watched Senku redden at my teasing before I reached my hand out to help him up. He stared at my outstretched hand for a moment before swinging his opposite hand over and grabbing me at the wrist, letting out a small cry when I jerked him forward. I let him go and laughed in shock.

"Holy shit, dude, why are you so light!?"

"Because I'm a scientist?"

"Senku, you could be considered underweight given the fact that I, a much smaller female, just fuckin' yanked you forward like you weighed as much as a 5-year-old."

Senku blinked at me before looking down.

"Do I really weigh as much as a 5-year-old?"

I sighed and shook my head at him before grabbing the bag of Malachite.

"Whatever, just grab the shit so we can head back."

Senku gave me a nod and lifted his bag before walking towards the village before following after him.

The walk was quiet as I focused on the ground around me so as not to trip. That was not something I really wanted to happen given that I was carrying a bunch of rocks though I nearly screamed when I felt an intimidating energy behind me. Rather than freak out Senku, I whipped around and blinked at Anubis before sighing and whispering a soft "Christ, dude" before slowing so I could walk beside him.

"Why are you here, Papa? I thought you were busy with, uh, Mr. Chaos." The name was given to the Egyptian god of chaos, Set since he always showed up when his name was said and he had some weird-ass vendetta against me.

Anubis chuckled a bit before speaking. "Bastet told me about the talk she had with you and Tefnut."

I let out a soft groan. No doubt Bastet went off and got ahead of herself and claimed that Senku and I had some kind of bond. I opened my mouth to refute her claims, but Anubis held a hand up to silence me. I blinked at him a bit surprised but I closed my mouth and let him speak his mind.

"I believe that she is correct in her assumption, however, I do agree that she's taking things rather quickly. You and the boy are nowhere near close to love but you both at least find each other attractive." He gave me a knowing look as I looked down.

Did I really find Senku attractive? I thought he was at least handsome and his eyes were a bit of a trip to look into but could I find him that attractive? I couldn't, right? I barely knew him. Though, I guess that's never stopped me from being at least physically attracted to someone, which wasn't bad or anything, more so annoying than anything else. I flinched a bit when I heard Anubis laugh and I looked up at him, his gold eyes giving me a knowing look before ruffling my hair and leaving. I heaved a quiet sigh before picking my pace back up.

Hey hey! Another chapter for you losers! We're getting closer to the witch discovery so don't you fret my loves! Also, I decided to go ahead and keep the gender of (Y/N) female just because that's easiest for me. My next story, whatever that ends up being, I'll definitely do a gender-neutral (Y/N). Moooooving on! I'm sure you all have noticed that I've been throwing in a few new deities and yes, this is intentional. I'm trying to keep the story as on track as I can with deities while also adding in the new ones that have entered my life that are ok with being featured.
