To say that you were startled when the gradient-haired male led you to a small, simple village decked out to the current max of science equipment would be an understatement: you were astonished. You blinked slowly as your delicate orbs traced the landscape before looking at him.
"You and about 40 other people put all of this together? No shout." Your tone dropped a bit as your (e/c) eyes held his garnet hues.
"We absolutely did; with a little convincing with some food and a day of village games, I became the chief of this whole village." He smirked triumphantly while you blinked and started walking away, intending on exploring.
It didn't take you long to stumble across a tall, water tower-esq structure. With a tilt of your head and a quiet step on to the ladder, you gently climbed up and into the hut. As you looked around, your eyes began to light up as you squealed; laying before you in a gorgeously organized fashion was all of the crystals and minerals you had before all of this and that you had been wanting. Not only were the crystals and minerals all settled into giant, woven baskets but dozens of herbs, medicinal herbs, specifically, were all laid out to dry. Without a thought, you quickly climbed out and ran to the man that had helped you.
"Oi, you!" As you stumbled to a stop beside him, you grabbed his arm and bounced slightly. "Who collected all of those crystals and minerals and herbs?"
He blinked at you before sighing in mild irritation and pulling his arm from your grip. "First off, I have a name: Senku. Second off, that would be Chrome; he's the guy with the spiky brown hair."
You blinked a bit before chuckling. "Oh, yeah, I guess I never did get your name. Well, it's nice to meet you, Senku. I'm (y/n)."
Senku grinned a bit and nodded. "Pleasure now, think you can help me out with something?" As he finished speaking, he held up a beaker full of what looked like acid.
"Uhm, sure?" You slowly stepped further into the lab area, moving to his other side. "What do you need me to do?"
He handed you the beaker before getting a dripper ready. "Hold that extremely still."
You blinked. "Uh, why didn't you just set it on the table?"
"Because the table isn't very stable and the bottom of that beaker isn't exactly flat."
You rolled your eyes but held the glass in place before a butterfly caught your attention. With a quiet gasp, you unconsciously leaned forward to see it better right at the exact moment Senku dropped in the other chemical resulting in the solution shifting before he grabbed you by the shoulder and shoved you under the table with him as the mixture exploded. As the smoke cleared and you two coughed to get the smoke out of your lungs, you couldn't help but laugh; not only had you been saved by some random stranger, but you were already being treated like you belonged. As you laughed, Senku blankly stared at you before groaning and getting back on his feet.
"Dammit. The solution is ruined." He cracked his neck as he spoke. "Oh, also, go talk to Kohaku about getting some actual clothes; Kohaku is the lioness, you can't miss her."
You nodded as you climbed back to your feet. "Right, thanks. Sorry about that explosion by the way; I saw a butterfly." You offered an apologetic grin and awkwardly rubbed the back of your neck before Senku sighed.
"It's fine. Now go get clothes. You're going to be helping me with chemistry so get excited!"
You gave him a hum and a nod before going off to find this Kohaku character.
I think I'm gonna like it here, after all.

Bam, another chapter! Sorry it took so long, I've had a lot going on but I hope you enjoyed!

FanfictionI see a lot of stories where the reader is just as smart as Senku or has the same affiliation for science and I wanted to put something new in the pool of Senku x readers.
