13. Guess We're Here Now

Hello! I am so sorry I vanished! My life got super crazy and I also kinda fell out of Dr. Stone. Even though I'm still not really into it, I thought I'd bring you guys another chapter because y'all deserve it! This book is not going to be discontinued, it'll just have random updates that may be one after another or take months to get to, there will be no in between

You stare at Senku in shock, your eyes are as wide as saucers as you take the time to process what he's just said.

He feels the same.

As you're taking this time to process this new information, Senku finally clears his throat, probably getting impatient that you're taking too long to answer.

"Well? You gonna say anything or keep staring at me like a deer caught in the headlights?"

Fuck! Say something, damnit!

"Ah! Right, sorry, my bad! I uh..well, Senku, I feel the same way about you.." As you speak, your face erupts in scarlet as you focus back into the real world, both shocked at how easily you said that and by the fact that Senku's face is also bright red. After you confess, you're both just left standing in silence before Senku speaks again.

"Good. Very good, uh, then I guess we're partners?" He sounds so unsure as he speaks to you. You knew he most likely didn't have a lot of experience in terms of romance given how...him he is, but you never expected him to be so...shy.

You smile a bit as you nod and confirm your answer to his question.

"Yes, Senku, we're partners."

Senku grins again as you answer him before he levels you with a serious look.

"Listen, I've never done this kind of thing before, okay? I didn't even realize that I could experience romantic attraction to someone; I'm aro/ace so this is uncharted territory for me, you know? Anyway, the whole point of this is to just make you aware that I'm gonna mess up..a lot."

You chuckle and nod as you listen to his words before speaking again.

"Senku, I don't expect you to know everything. Every relationship is going to be different regardless of what kind of relationship it is. The important thing is that we work together and help guide each other on how to love the other properly, right? We don't have to dive right into being overly affectionate or anything with each other. Besides, this is the stone age and you're the chief of a village, I'm sure things are wildly different compared to when you and I were alive, right?"

Senku chuckles a bit and nods at your words as he leans against the table the crystals are currently sitting on.

"Yeah, you've got a point there. Alright, from this point on, there are no expectations, deal?"

"Deal."
