As I became lost in his rich eyes, I failed to notice him speaking to me until he snapped by my ear, resulting in me jumping up to a standing position and answering him.
"I-I'm sorry. What did you say?" My voice held a slightly panicked quiver but otherwise held the same rich bubbliness it always had.
"I said: 'move'." His voice was somewhat nasally and vaguely irritating, however, it suited his face and body well.
"Uhm, why? It's just Pyrite." My tone became very matter-of-factly as I wandered not too far off to cover my more intimate areas with vines and other foliage.
He sighed and cracked his neck before he spoke up once more. "I know what that mineral is and I just so happen to need it." As he spoke, his tone became mildly annoyed as he made eye contact with me now that I was covered.
"Ok but what for? As far as I know, Pyrite doesn't have a lot of practical uses." I shifted my weight on to my hip, my opposite leg popping forward as I brought my thumb and index finger to my lips in thought, trying to remember other, non-spiritual uses for the mineral.
"While that may be the case generally, I am 10 billion percent sure that you won't want to know what I'm using it for." His face scrunched up to form a sinister smile as a dark aura overcame his usual one.
I blinked at him a couple of times before sighing and redirecting the conversation. "Leaving that where it is, do you think it would be possible to bring me to wherever it is that you're staying? Sadly, I don't know enough survival skills to truly make it on my own." I crossed my arms with a small sigh before looking over to see him smirking.
"Sure; I'm always ready to add some muscle to the Kingdom of Science." He offered his hand to me with the same smirk he wore as he spoke.
My eyes dropped to his hand before climbing back up to his face before repeating the process a couple more times. With a quiet sigh, I reached forward and grasped onto his wrist, feeling his own hand grip mine.
"Get excited; the Kingdom of Science has a new recruit. Our power has been raised another 10 billion percent!"
Oh, gods, what have I gotten myself into?
