To say that Gen was losing it was an understatement.
He could hear his mind splintering as he stared at you and Senku.
It's been several months since you revealed your secret to Senku and Gen has been watching as he worked you a lot harder than he has before, however, that was to be expected because Senku had given you even more responsibility than just gathering. There's still this tiny, itty-bitty, niggling problem, though -
You and Senku may as well be in love at this point.
Gen is a reasonable person. Manipulative? Sure. But still reasonable overall but this shit? He can't do it anymore. He's at his fucking breaking point.
Gen loves you and Senku as a pair, your personalities collide in the best way possible and so do your interests: you've always been very invested in anything scientific and Senku only ever outright waved off your beliefs a couple of times (getting his ass whooped stopped that in its tracks pretty fuckin quick).
HOW-FUCKING-EVER
You and Senku are...uncomfortable with the topic of romance. You and Gen joke about it all the time, but when it becomes serious, you actively go out of your way to state how much more internal work needs to be done before you can take that step and Senku is even worse - he'll be beat red and just be absolutely going ballistic on whatever experiment or invention he has in his grasp, overly aggressively explaining how science is the most important thing to him.
Not anymore.
Gen is sick and fucking tired of seeing the power couple of the century run and hide from each other.
And he'll be damned if he let's it go on.
