Chapter 4: I'm only human

I opened my eyes blinded by the sunlight. Why did it have to be so sunny? And why does Jake continue to open my curtains every time he sees them closed. I rolled over and noticed Kyle was no longer next to me. Then I remembered him saying he had to go meet up with Brian for something. Hmm I wonder what about. Guess I'll have to ask him later.

I looked at the clock on the night stand, by my bed. It was 1:30, the last time I checked the clock it had been 9:24. Guess I needed that little nap.

I sat up on the bed and grabbed my phone from the night stand. I turned my IPhone to find 2 messages from both Breanna and Natalia.

Natalia's read, "Hey wanna come over? I was thinking why not have a girls night. Plus my parents won't be home till Thursday."

I had forgotten it was Monday. School was supposed to be starting today but Jake had said it was cancel because of a teacher meeting. School will sadly resume tomorrow, meaning more school work.

I scrolled through my phone and found Bree's text. It read, "Hey Scar, you ok from last nights party? Brian told me what happened. I was passed out on his kitchen counter. He's so sweet he let me sleep in his bed that night, but don't worry nothing happened. I think, lol. Any way you going to Natalia's house?"

The girls and I hadn't had a girls night together in what seems like forever. We needed a day to just hang out and talk. Even though I saw Breanna yesterday at the party, she was with Brian and I was with Kyle. We couldn't just ditch our dates.

I stood up and looked by self in the mirror. My hair was messed up from my nap so I decided to put it in a high pony tail.

I had to go talk things out with Kohl and Jake. Things probably weren't going to go well but I had to at least try to get them to understand.

I walked out my room and ran down the stairs. At the end of the stairs Ella was sitting in a chair by the front door, probably reading the mail. She looked up from the envelopes and smiled.

"Your awake for a second there I thought you were sick, or your leg was in pain," Ella said looking at my bandaged leg.

"I was exhausted, and no my leg is just fine. It actually doesn't hurt. That's a good sign."

"It really is. Kyle left left around and hour ago. I caught him trying to quietly close your door. When he saw me he told me you passed out and that he was leaving because he had business to take care of. He's a sweet boy," Ella said.

"He is, I just wish Kohl saw him as sweet and not some rude teenager. He really isn't, he's sweet and a gentlemen" I said hoping Ella would understand my words. And as always Ella understood everything.

"He will grow to love Kyle he just hates seeing you grow up so fast. You've always been his little girl. Blood related or not he's loved you since the day he saved you from that burning car."

I froze at her words. I hated talking about my parents accident, it brought to much pain and I wasn't about to show the alpha female weakness.

"Yea I guess. Speaking of Kohl where is he I thought I should talk to him and Jake to help them understand," I said trying to push the feeling of my parents accident, away.

"Oh, they're both in Kohl's office."

Kohl's office? They both were only in there unless something big and important happened.

"His office? Is everything ok?"

"Yes, everything is fine just a little conflict against a near by pack. Nothing to worry about," Ella said keeping a soft voice.
