(Jake's P.O.V)

The air was cool but the blood that rushed through my veins was heated. My paws were sore from running but I knew I could keep going.

I could hear my prey, how it's heartbeat rushes with each quick step it took.

I could smell it's fear as it knew I was catching up.

With a quick jump, I landed on top of the deer and tore at it's neck. The deer tried to fight away but I was quicker and snapped it's neck instantly causing it's body to go limp. I could feel and taste it's warm blood spilling into my mouth like a river.

This was victory to a wolf, to win our battles against our prey. But for me this was just a distraction.

I really wanted to go to school and chase Scarlet down. I wanted her to hear me out, to understand everything. But I knew she wouldn't listen, and I knew my wolf wouldn't be able to handle her rejection.

So I choose to take the day off. I've been running in the woods since last night, when she left. I needed to blow off the steam.

It was moments like this I was grateful for having the mansion at the edge of the woods. Our back yard was  practically an entrance to the woods. My father had made sure of it long before he formed his pack.

I was angry with him. Angry that he would make me keep such a secret from her. I didn't want to, but he's my alpha. What type of role model am I to my pack if I disobeyed my own father's orders.

I took the path back to the mansion, knowing that if I didn't go back soon my mother would worry. She was just as mad at me.

My father had kept the same secret from her, and I knew he would be paying the price of her rage just as I was.

I was in mid step when I smelt him.

His scent was like fire to my nostrils as I knew my wolf was starting to get heated again.

I was ready to charge again into another run, my wolf ready to take control.

He was in my house. How dare he come back? He took her from me. Probably filled her head with nonsense so she really won't talk to me.

I couldn't take it, my wolf was surfacing.

Blake was a dead man.

I ran, faster then I had the night before. I howled letting my prey know I was coming for him.

I was half way to the mansion when other scents filled my nose. I stopped to get a feel of who else would get a piece of my wrath. Who would join this predator in trespassing in my home.

I inhaled deeply focusing on the scents. There was 3 other scents.

One was female the other was male. Both their scents recognizable.

Breanna and Brian.

The third persons scent was harder to smell. All I could smell was Blake.

Then I smelt it.

A hint of vanilla.

It was her.

I couldn't recognize her scent because she was covered in Blake's. There was only one girl who has always had a hint of vanilla to her scent.

Why did she smell so highly of him?

This really pushed my wolf off the edge.

We charged into a deadly run. My wolf had eyes on one other wolf and he was already a dead man.
