Sixty-Four

The group walked through the tunnels, Crookshanks leading the way, Remus, Peter and Ron following after, with Snape floating along behind them, his movement being controlled by Sirius. Harry followed behind Sirius, chatting with him with Hermione beside him and Summer and Juniper were in the back, discussing things of their own.

"How long have you known about Professor Lupin?" Summer brings up curiously. "Since I was....3...yeah" "You were young" Summer comments in surprise and Juniper nods. "He had to watch me on the night of a full moon. He kept telling me I wasn't allowed near him and being the stubborn person I was, I kept pestering him about it so he finally just told me." "I thought you said your dad knew" Summer says and Juniper nods.

"I don't know what my dad was thinking that night, leaving me alone with a werewolf" Juniper shakes her head fondly, glancing up the tunnel at her Godfather, guiding Ron and Peter through the tunnel. "But, after that night, we grew closer. I don't know what I'd do without him" Juniper admits. "What about me?" Summer pouts and Juniper rolls her eyes.

"You as well" Juniper nods, slinging an arm around her shoulders and Summer smiles. "You know we're probably going to be in serious trouble after all this, right? If not with Dumbledore and the other Professors, then with Remus" "Already figured that out" Juniper sighs. Hermione slows down a little, looking back at Juniper. "Looks like someone wants to talk to you." Before Juniper can reply, Summer moves ahead of both of them, starting a conversation with Harry who had finished his conversation with Sirius.

Juniper catches up with Hermione, the two creeping along the tunnel together. "How are you?" Hermione wonders curiously and Juniper shrugs. "I'm not really sure...You?" "Me neither" Hermione admits. The two look at each other before letting out chuckles. "How does it feel knowing Remus is a werewolf?" Juniper wonders.

Hermione turns to look at her. "I had already figured it out" Hermione says and Juniper raises an eyebrow. "You remember that class we had with Professor Snape? And you kept getting mad every time he said something bad about Remus or werewolves?" Juniper nods. "And then he gave us that essay about werewolves, plus with all of the other things about Remus and then your present" Hermione grabs Juniper's hand, playing with the ring Remus gave her.

"That doesn't surprise me actually" Juniper laughs. "It wasn't that hard to figure out. Anyone could have" Hermione waves it off, shyly. "You're right. But no one did. Except you, of course. You really are smart, Hermione. Don't let anyone tell you differently. And if you anyone ever does, you find me and I'll deal with them" Juniper tells her seriously and Hermione nods, the two smiling at each other.

They walk in silence after that, all conversations coming to a halt as they focus on getting out of the long tunnel. Once they reach the end, Crookshanks hops up first, pressing his paws up against the knot for the others to climb up without getting beaten down by the branches. Ron, Peter and Remus go next and then Sirius floats Snape through. He steps aside for the others to go, Summer, Harry, Hermione and then Juniper and then he climbs up last.

Before Juniper climbed up though, she couldn't help noticing the look Sirius was giving her. Like he didn't trust her. Maybe because of her last name? She was pretty sure Sirius didn't like her dad after all. But then again, she didn't even like her dad, so why was he so worried about her? They all look around the grounds, it being very late at night. They all start moving, no one talking now, the events of the night weighing on them.

Juniper couldn't help noticing the way Hermione's hair blew in the soft wind. She had a couple scratches here or there on her face, actually most of them did. The only one who didn't was Summer, having ninjaed her way through the swinging branches of the Whomping Willow, which still surprised Juniper as she thought about it. "One wrong move, Peter" She hears Remus say, holding up his wand at Peter as they walked.
