"Rosie! Can you just stop?!" Lisa angrily shouted at me. She looked my way and held my wrist while her other hand is on the steering wheel.
"Lisa! Both hands on the wheel please!" I said as I remove my hand from her grasp. I want her to focus on driving. It's snowing and the roads are slippery.
"Tell me what's wrong please," she begged but I'm not ready to tell her yet. When she didn't receive any answers from me she pressed her foot on the gas and we're on full speed.
"Lisa!" I shockingly sat up straight and shot my eyes open, my heart is beating fast and beads of sweat is forming on my forehead. As I caught my breath I remember what I was dreaming about- Lisa.
Reality hits me, she's still at the hospital and I kept dreaming about that night. It should've been me. I buried my face on the pillow inhaling the sweet scent of Lisa. Surprisingly, it's been a year but I can still smell her from this pillow. I miss her and it sucks.
It seems like it's not only me that misses Lisa, I saw our Lily curled up comfortably on Lisa's pillow. I picked the tiny cat up and snuggled to her, she let out a cute 'meow' then made herself comfortable in my arms.
"Lily-ya, do you miss mommy?" she looked at me with those eyes as if she knows what I'm saying then she let out a 'meow' I sighed, me too.
Today marks the one year anniversary of Lisa in the hospital meaning it's been a year since the accident. It's not something to celebrate but something to look forward, I might get some reaction from her today.
Lisa was given a year by the doctors and 12 months has passed I just hope today is the lucky day.
I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. I opened one of the cabinets and there it was, tons of post-it notes that Lisa would occasionally write to remind me of everything. You see, I easily forget things that is why she would make the to-do list and post-it's for me.
"What would I do without you?" I whispered to myself as I reached for my toothbrush. The quickly I got ready the quickly I'll get to the hospital.
As I got out of the room, I was met with silence. I think to myself, no unnies? I sigh, maybe they woke up early then visit the hospital earlier. They do be waking up at the break of dawn. I went to the kitchen and there's a note. "Chaeng-ah, we went on a run, we'll go straight to the hospital after. Love you!" I read out loud.
When I put down the note my phone starts to ring like crazy. I looked at the caller ID and its Jisoo unnie. I don't know why I'm having a hard time answering the phone. Maybe because she's at the hospital and she only calls me when there's something bad happen to Lisa. Oh my god!
"Unnie?" my voice is shaking and I was pacing back and forth nervously. Why would Jisoo unnie call me?
"Is that Rosie?" I heard Jennie unnie at the background. "Yes-" all I heard was a 'yes' and their voice got muffled, I think unnie covered the speakers. What is happening and why do they sound like they are panicking? What are they discussing that they dont want me to hear?
"Hello? Unnie! Is Lisa okay?" I heard shuffling and heard Jisoo unnie cleared her throat. "Um-sorry Chaengie. Are you on your way?" is that why she called me? To ask if I'm on my way? "Um yes, unnie." there was a pause and then I heard her again "Okay, Chaeng-ah. Stay safe!" and I heard the beeping sound meaning she ended the call.
Before I went out, I took the liberty to feed the pets. Joohwangie first because he's a good boy! Next, Lisa's babies Luca, Lily, and Louis. They do really be clingy and demanding like their mommy. Luckily they don't like Joohwangie! I stopped in front of an urn placed safely on top of the cabinet, I smiled sadly while looking at the picture of a chubby Scottish Fold cat "Our baby Leo."
