"My grandpa died." there it was, those three words that made Jungkook broke down. "I'm so sorry, Jungkook." I gasped as my eyes starts to glisten.
I knew how important his grandfather was to him and what an inspiration he is to Jungkook, knowing that he passed away was heart breaking.
"His heart couldn't take it..." Jungkook explained while clutching onto his chest as if he's experiencing the same thing his pops did.
"I'm sorry," I didn't know what else to say or do, "I didn't get to know him.." I continued, I remember how the basketball player would always tell me that I should meet his grandpa and that he is the only one of Jungkook's family member that supported him with his career choice.
"He would've adore you." he chuckled while wiping the tears away, he composed himself then looked back at me. "So, what does Park Chaeyoung doing here?" he asked and I looked at my clasped hands, "Praying." I said simply.
"I noticed, you were trembling when I caught a glimpse of you through the glass. I mistook you for someone having a seizure." Now this is the Jungkook I know, he joked. While I was still pouting, I smacked his arms. He teased me a little more until we went into a comfortable silence.
"Lisa." I suddenly said, he looked at me confusingly then realize that something must've happened. "I found her at the bathroom, Jungkook. It's 3 AM and I woke up with the sound of heaving ang stuffs getting knocked off.
"I saw her sitting on the cold, hard bathroom floor, her nose gushing, the toilet was covered in blood, she attempted to block the bleeding with her shirt, and the minute I had a sight of her exposed abdomen... I— it was covered with bruises." As I tried to describe what had happened, I choked on my words.
"She then looked at me. Her eyes. Oh my god, Jungkook. You should've seen her eyes... her eyes looked terrified." I closed my eyes as I remember.
"Chaeng.. I'm scared." I fought so hard not to cry as Lisa uttered those things in hushed whispers. I am too, Lisa. I'm terrified.
He wrapped his arms around me as I leaned into him for support. "Do you know how she's doing?" I merely shrugged when he asked, assuming she was still in the operating room fighting for her life.
"Chaengyoung-ah!" Jisoo unnie screamed and gasped for air, so I imagine she rushed over here. When Jungkook and I heard her, we split off and stared at her in disbelief. When she motioned for me to come, I stood up and went to the other girl. She waved at Jungkook and then ran, with me trailing close behind.
I recognized the path we were on "What happened?" I exclaimed while keeping up with the oldest phase. We came to a halt in front of a hospital room, and I rested against the wall to collect my breath.
"Is she inside?" I exclaimed, gasping for air. I asked, and she nodded, so I reached for the doorknob and yanked it open.
I came to a complete halt when I saw Lisa on the bed, sitting up and smiling broadly at me. I proceeded slowly towards her, my mouth gaping and tears threatening to flow.
"Hi," she whispers timidly as she extends her hand to be held. When she moved to hug me, she struggled a little and settled on kissing my cheeks like she used to.
"I'm sorry," she replied quietly, closing her eyes slowly and resting against the bed.
"She's still drowsy, because of the medication." I nodded in agreement as the cheerleader stated. Lisa sat up straight again after waking up unexpectedly, but she cringed at the discomfort she was experiencing.
"Hey," she murmured with a broad smile as she fixed her gaze on me.
"Get some rest, Lisa," I stroked her hair as I guided her in settling down properly. She shut her eyes as I continued to stroke her hair until she dozed off.
