"Here are your release papers..." Nurse Sandara gave the paper and pen to Lisa's parents while I help Lisa get ready to be released.
"Are you excited?" I asked the thai girl that seemed so quiet. "Yes, I miss Leo and Luca. And I want to re-meet Lily and Louis!" now she's excited, but I frowned when she mentioned Leo.
This is what I'm afraid of, none of us has the heart to tell Lisa that Leo passed away. I'm scared for her reaction, she'll come home and not see Leo.
"Chae?" Lisa took me out of my thoughts. "Uhm- No, yeah, they missed you as well." I mentally face palmed myself. "Are you okay walking?" I asked her when she stood up, looking out whenever she was out of balance.
"Yes, I think a year of resting healed my body more than you think." she said while holding onto my arms, it's now the other way around. Before, I was the one who always cling to her.
"You still need therapy though," I sighed, "You'll come with me every time right?" she asked and I nodded, I wanted to help her in any way I can.
"Let's go home," Lisa's mom led us to the car park, "Uh— mom, I think I'll walk." I said as I feel uneasy around cars, she knew that.
"Okay, sweetie. We understand." she said "Pranpriya?" we stopped in our tracks when we saw Lisa crouched down with her hands both on her ears while her eyes are shut closed.
I immediately went to her side, she was shaking "Hey, Lalisa..." I cooed to calm her down, she looked at me with glossy eyes.
"I remember... I remember..." I hugged her not letting her finish the sentence. "It's alright," I caressed her hair as she sob to my chest.
"I don't... I don't want to ride that thing!" she pointed at her parents car, I felt her pain, trauma. I knew how she feel and I'm not leaving her alone.
"Let's walk home?" I offered her my hand as I help her get back up. I told her parents about the situation and they seem very understanding. They said that they'll just visit later.
"Do you— do you have the same feeling? When we're near a car?" she asked quietly, fumbling at my fingers. I smiled warmly at her as I felt those butterflies on my stomach.
"The day of my release, I got a panic attack and from then on I never step foot on a car. It's been a year..." I sighed, she held my hands tightly that it gave me comfort.
"We can walk together from now on." she smiled widely, it felt like I was getting to know Lisa again. This is what Lisa's like when we were kids.
"I don't think we can go far with walking, Lisa." we laughed until we got into a comfortable silence.
"So, we're living together?" she asked and I smiled as I explain everything. We were now outside of our home, and all I can feel now is nervousness.
"Lisa, I need to tell you something before we go in." I stopped her from entering the household, I caught a glimpse of the unnies from the window nodding to me as if they knew what I was going to say.
"Chaeyoung-ah, it's a bit chilly out here, can't we talk inside?" she said while putting her palms together to make a heat.
"I'll make it quick." I said which she agreed on before holding my hands, I looked at her then at our hands "You're warm," she shrugged.
"What are you going to say, Chaeng?" she asked as I snapped out of my thoughts, "I'm sorry..." tears began to form.
"For what?" she reached for my cheeks as she wiped a tear that manage to escape. "I didn't... I can't..." I'm sorry I didn't save Leo!God dammit! Why can't I just say it?!
