Chapter 3:Reunited

                Suddenly the once dark void started getting brighter. At first at had thought that I was dying and had started to panic. All common sense fled my young childish mind. Thoughts flickered through my mind the largest one among them being ‘No! I’m too young and adorable to die!’ needless to say I was a pretty cocky child. It took me a while to realize that I was only wakening up……’this isn’t a time to panic!’. I thought it’s a time to rejoice ill finally be free of this dark place!!’With each passing moment the room grew lighter and gained a reddish hue. I could feel my eyelids squishing themselves closed as I slowly woke up. Obviously the lights were on and they sure were bright! I slowing sat up from   the bed I was in while rubbing my sore eyes with my fist.

                Keeping my eyes closed I felt around the bed I was in. it was seemingly comfortable and soft and I didn’t feel that much of an ache in my back so I must have only been out of it for a day at the least. There was only a thin blanket covering me from the cold. All though now that I think about it I’m not cold at all, actually I’m burning up! Is there a heater right by the bed or something? Slowly I opened my eyes using my hands to guard them from the light. I blink several times trying to get rid of the spots that blurred my vision. The first thing I noticed is that everything was white.  There where white walls, white furniture, white bed and sheets, and lastly white floors.

                As I was examining the room around me I saw slight movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked over to my right only to discover the heat source I felt moments before. You guessed it everyone it was the one and only Natsu Dragneel. He hadn’t changed much since I last saw him, at least from what I could remember. The only features that seemed to change about him was that he had grown. Everything else including his face remained the same. As I watched Natsu he started to talk in his sleep. I could make out the words Igneel and leaving. This made me think of Crystala and how all the other dragons probably left.

                ‘I should probably wake him up’ I thought. After all some people like myself can get violent when their dreaming. I remember one time when I was still with Gajeel I woke up and he was angry with me. Apparently I had punched him in the forehead and kicked his shin. He got his revenge on me though later in the day and made sure my training was worse than it’s ever been before. Needless to say Gajeel never stayed the night with me again. At least in the same bed at least after all he did think of me as a sister no matter how long we knew each other. Gah I’m getting side tracked now. Time to focus on the current task!

                “Natsu-nii wake up”, I say as I shake his torso. It seems like he’s not going to wake up soon. What is something that guys like…..food?”Natsuuuu”, I sing him.”I have baaaaacooonn!”. . . . . And he’s still asleep. What does it take for this kid to wake up!! Desperate times call for desperate measures. Oh how I love it when I get to be evil *grins evilly and rubs hands together*.

                “OI! NATSU YOU PINK HEADED BRAT WAKE UP AND FIGHT ME YOU BOOGER BUTT!!! ARE YOU TO MUCH OF A BIRD BRAIN TO EVEN NOTICE WHEN THERES PEOPLE AROUND YOU! THAT’S IT FIGHT ME PINKY!!” and magically with those few words the sleeping beast awakens springing into action. (A/n is it bad that I’m laughing at my own story?? The image in my head when I wrote this was beautiful *gets teary eyed*)

                “HEY!! WHOS SCREAMING IN MY EAR IS IT YOU YA ICE STIPPER! SINCE WHEN DO YOU CALL ME PINKY! THAT’S IT LETS FIGHT! I AINT SCARED TO TAKE YOU DOWN! AND IM NOT A BIRD BRAIN!!!”. As Natsu was screaming this to the air not even bothering to look over at me I broke down laughing. I can’t help it, it was priceless! His whole face was red with anger and he was literally spewing fire from his mouth as he screamed. As he waved his arms around in the air I couldn’t help but laugh even harder. Finally he decided to look over at me and his face regained his normal color and instead gained a confused look upon it. I decided I should probably speak up. To mock him of course!

                “Hahaha! That was hilarious pinky! That has to be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while! It was even funnier then when we first met! Classic Gem: 3”

                “SO YOU WERE THE ONE WHO CALLED ME PINKY! Alright let’s… wait the first time we met?” when he said those words I felt my heart start to break. I could have sworn he remembered…. I thought I heard him call my name. Did he really forget me? But we made a promise. I guess I can’t be too upset I did forget about him after all, even if I did remember in the end. My grin dropped from my face as frowned letting how much his words hurt me shine through. Natsu noticed and seemed to be panicked at first not knowing what to do. I felt like I was on the verge of tear. All of a sudden he gained a look of surprise on his face.

                “Wait did you say gem? OH MY GOD IT REALLY IS YOU! HAHA I THOUGHT IT WAS YOU! HaHa didn’t doubt it for a moment.” He laughs awkwardly trying to cover up my mistake. All I can do is watch him with a sweat drop going down my forehead.

                “HEY DIDN’T I TELL YOU TO STOP CALLING ME PINKY!” he shouted at me. He wasn’t angry though in fact he still wore that silly grin on his face that he always did. One that was so large that it showed all of his teeth including his sharp canines. Me however, I was still in shocked. I expected him to not remember and all of a sudden he’s screaming to me about something he told me years ago.

                “You remembered…” I whispered to myself. I was just so over whelmed with emotions. I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.

                “Of course I remembered you silly! How could I forget you’re my first friend! You’re also the only other person who’s met my dad!!” he said while laughing and rubbing his head. At that moment I let a single tear drop down my face and let my lip quiver. I could tell by looking at him that Natsu was surprised.

                “Natsu…” I said in a small voice. If we were normal people he wouldn’t have been able to understand me but since we aren’t I knew he did.

                “u-um y-yeah gem?” he stuttered looking unsure of himself. After he finished talking I jumped on him and wrapped my frail arms around his body in a bone breaking huge. Just because I was small, and hadn’t eaten much doesn’t mean I’m not strong! I rested my head in the crook of his neck and cried my eyes out. I cried about everything and anything. Just the fact I knew I had someone to help me through this made me feel like I could take my walls down. For now I cried. Natsu kept panicking and asking me why I was crying while I just shook my head. I’d tell him after I was done, for now I just wanted to hold my child hood friend and practical brother. It makes me wonder if I have real siblings. Did they look like me? What happened to them? These were thing I’d have to figure out another day. Right now though I had someone I could call family and that’s all I could really wish for.

A/n -thank you everyone for  voteing fro my story and likeing it! it makes me so happy to see that people are enjoying it it inspires me and makes me want to finish it even more. i admit ive tried writing this story a couple times but i always lost inspireation cuz i felt like no one liked it. ive rewritten it several times to fit my new writing styles and im happy with the way it is now. i still have some work in progress so bear with me on this.
