Their slumber was however not peaceful as a nightmare plagued Aiden's mind.

*Aiden's Pov*

I wake up in a dark room. Panicked I look around and see that I am back in the Panic room. Ironic I know.

I suddenly hear a loud crash before the door is slammed open.

A large monster the size of the room with razor-sharp claws and teeth along with the stench of a dead skunk comes into the room.

Its blood-red eyes look at me with what looks like hunger.

I grab my small stuffed bear tightly before bringing my knees up to my chest, barring my head into my knees in hopes that the monster will just leave me alone.

I hear a few weird noises from the beast before silence. I looked up to see if the monster had left, only to become face-to-face with the terrifying creature.

My eyes widen as I shove myself back, my stuffed bear falling to the side as I try and get as far away as possible from the monster.

"You'll never escape us." The beast growls, its voice like nails on a chalkboard.

⚠Nightmare ends⚠

I shot up from bed shaking and in a cold sweat. I hurriedly look around the room and am filled with relief when I see light...

*Time jump backwards & Jack's pov*

I'm woken up by Aiden tightly hugging me from behind. I glance over my shoulder and see that he is still asleep so I just assume he is an aggressive sleep cuddlier.

Well, that was before he shoved himself away from me. I sit up and look at him, now mostly awake and worried.

Suddenly he springs up, I can see him shaking as a bead of sweat falls down the side of his face.

He looks around frantically for a moment before visibly relaxing.

*3rd POV (Sorry for all of the POV changes)*

Jack hesitantly places a hand on Aiden's shoulder making the latter jump in surprise.

Aiden turns and looks at Jack with fear clear in his eyes before seeing that it is just Jack.

"Are you okay? That looked like one Hell of a nightmare." Jack asked, concern lacing his tone as his eyes showed his worry.

Instead of a verbal response, Aiden just pulls Jack into a tight hug, instantly barring his head into the smaller boy's neck/shoulder.

Jack wraps his arms around Aiden's upper back as Aiden's arms wrap around his waist.

"Do you want to talk about it? It might help some." Jack asks after a minute of the two just holding each other.

Aiden shakes his head no as he takes in Jack's calming scent, tightening the hug slightly.

"Okay... do you at least want to lay down so this will be a little more comfortable?" Jack asked as he rubbed his hand up and down Aiden's back.

Instead of saying anything, Aiden moved them both so they were lying down. Jack was now lying fully on top of Aiden with Aiden's arms tightly around him in a hug.

"I can let go if you're not okay with this," Aiden spoke softly, his breath brushing against Jack's ear and neck tickling the boy.

"No, this is fine. I might- no scratch that, I will definitely fall asleep though." Jack warned, his eyelids already feeling heavy again

"That's okay. Go back to sleep, it's only four in the morning so you should go back to sleep." Aiden said after checking the time on a clock on Jack's wall.

"Are you sure? I don't mind trying to stay awake for you." Jack asked not wanting to have to deal with the after effects of a nightmare alone.

"No, I'll be fine. Sleep, you need it." Aiden replied as he ran a hand through Jack's hair, the other hand under Jack's shirt rubbing soothing circles on his lower back, Aiden's cold hands cooling Jack's warm skin.

Jack's eyes closed as he melted into Aiden's embrace, now fully comfortable and allowing himself to relax.

"You should go back to sleep soon too, I don't really want to meet sleep-deprived Aiden," Jack mumbled as he buried his head into Aiden's chest.

"Okay, I will. Goodnight." Aiden replied with a soft smile as he looked down at the adorable boy lying on top of him.

"Good. G'night." Jack said before going back to sleep feeling safe and warm in Aiden's embrace.

What Jack didn't know was that the only Aiden he knew was the sleep-deprived, touch-starved, PTSD, ADD, malnourished  Aiden. Now he would always know the PTSD and ADD Aiden considering those things don't go away but the others can and will eventually.

Aiden couldn't really go back to sleep so he distracted himself by counting the plastic stars on Jack's ceiling, playing with Jack's hair, and finally playing on his phone with the volume all the way down.

Before he knew it, it was already eight-thirty in the morning and Jack was waking up for the second time.

Aiden quickly put his phone up and pretended to be asleep, his eyes shut and his grip on the hug loosening slightly.

Jack's eyes fluttered open as sunlight came through his window waking him up. He sat up a little so he could see Aiden's face and instantly noticed how dark the bags under his eyes were.

He frowned a little before his eyes wandered over the rest of Aiden's tan face.

He had a few freckles scattered across his face, most of them going across his nose and cheeks. He had a small dimple on the corner of his left cheek, and a small mole on his temple that was normally hidden by his hair.

"Take a photo, it'll last longer." Aiden said as he 'woke up'.

Jack blushed having been caught as he looked to the side embarrassed.

"Shut up." He said with an embarrassed blush.

"Make me," Aiden said as he cupped Jack's face with his hand and gently moved him so they were now facing each other, both of them almost imminently getting lost in the other's eyes.

"Okay," Jack said before lowering his head to the spot right beside Aiden's Adam's apple, the exact place where he had left a hickey not long before...
