Lloyd flinches as he kneads his chest, "Lloyd, you okay?" Cole asks. The said green ninja was spacing out, and seeing his sudden change of mood worries him. Lloyd jumps out of his trance, "Huh? O-oh, I'm okay. For some reason, I suddenly felt...restless."
Cole heaves a sigh, "You too, huh? Maybe you're just tired, it has been a few days since the tournament started." Lloyd gives a small grin, "Yeah, I'm sure resting for a minute or two would do me some good."
He looks around for a certain Oni, "Do you know where (O/n) went?" Cole crosses his arm before pointing towards the gate, "About that...she's been pacing back and forth in front of the gate ever since we got the message from Skylor. Jay tried asking her but she just dismissed him with a shrug."
Karlof comes by with Zugu and Eyezor in binds, "Still no sign of Chen?" Cole shakes his head, "No sign of (Y/n) either but we'll find them." Lloyd looks around once more, "Speaking of which, where's Darreth?"
~Back in the forest~
"Stick together they said, it'll be easier they said. Well, how am I gonna move around without any rides!" Darreth kicks the nearest stone he can find only to hurt his toes. "YEOWCH! Oho, even you wanted a piece of me, eh. I am the Brown Ninja!" He pulls every move and trick in the martial art book he read until he heard a deep chuff.
Darreth froze in place. The sound is nearby, cautiously, he slowly turns around. "Whoa..." Standing before him is a majestic Dragon, its aquamarine eyes gleaming with wisdom, its dark-night scale adds up to its presence. The Dragon closes its eyes, pausing for a moment before continuing its way, waiting for the said man to move. Darreth silently follows its path.
The Dragon brought him to a hidden cave, "Y-you want me to go in there?" Darreth hesitantly asks. The said Dragon gives a slight nod and turns itself into a small wisp. Shooketh he may be, Darreth stays on guard. The wisp stays static on his shoulder. With a sigh, he braces himself up before he dives into the darkness of the cave. It did not take long for his eyes to adjust to the lack of lighting. The wisp gives out a moderate amount of light for him to see the path he takes.
As they approach a bigger cavern, the wisp starts to move on its own. "Hey! Wait for me!" Darreth picks up his pace as not to lose sight of the wisp which is also his only source of light. The wisp changes back to a Dragon after taking a few turns into another cave. A string of light illuminated the middle of the cavern. "Wow, this is- such a beautiful place you have here. Um, is this what you wanted to show me?"
The Dragon gives another chuff, it gives Darreth a soft tap on the back, moving him forward. "Whoa, okay, I'll move." He went towards the light, "Huh? Is that-" Squinting to see better, he saw a body unmoving with a familiar mop of hair. Darreth gulped loudly. Finally decided to man himself up, he goes near. The body is still and his eyes caught the famous ninja sigil near the sleeves of the said body."That's.....(Y/n)?!" Turning the said body, it is indeed someone he knew.
"Oh god, (Y/n) stay with me!" Darreth checks her breathing, it is shallow but at least it is still there. "Okay, okay. (Y/n) if you're listening, I'm going to pick you up. If you feel hurt anywhere at all, tell me so I can stop and check on you." He picks her up as gently as possible, heaving her over his shoulder in a piggyback ride. "Hn..." (Y/n) gives a soft painful grunt.
~At the front gate of the island~
"(O/n), you're not coming?" Lloyd said as he pets his awaiting dragon. (O/n) shakes her head, "I have some unfinished business to settle here. You should go first, Lloyd. Send my death regards to Chen for taking my (Y/n)..." Her eyes shine with silent rage before it changes back into a common red. Giving Lloyd her best smile, she pats him by the cheek. "All the best, my boy. You have my blessings."
It took a moment for Lloyd to absorb what she meant. A tint of red starts to crawl across his face as the realization hits him. "R-right! I'll see you there then...you better be there." Lloyd said as he swiftly gets on his dragon and took off at the speed of light. She watches as his silhouette disappears into the horizon, "Now, where did that woman hide her essence?"
The sound of doors destroyed resonates across the palace as (O/n) happily kicked each room wide open. One particular door actually caught her attention. Above the door frame written the words, "Trophy Room huh?" Putting a close-eyed smile, she kicked the titanium door open.
"Where, oh, where thy orb?" After scanning the whole room full of Chen's favorite trinkets, she settles on the most obvious relation to the item she wanted, the Charge of the Dark Brigade. "Oho, that's so cliche. Why don't you cut the act and come out of that painting, Lydia."
It was a long silence before a hollow, playful laugh filled the room. "Nothing gets past you, my old friend." A ghostly, woman figure appeared before her with a big grin. "Honestly, it gets really lonely here after some time, ya know?"
(O/n) eerily chuckled, before a small vein popped out of her forehead, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING LOUNGING IN CHEN'S DIRTY MAN CAVE WHEN YOU'RE NEEDED ELSEWHERE?!" Lydia cupped her ears as (O/n) shriek in anger. "Calm down, missy. It's not my intention to get STUCK in here either."
"Well! You wouldn't be stuck here if you listen to me!"
"That was years agoooo, get over it alreadyyy!"
"Uhgggh! I don't understand why I'm even friends with you!"
Lydia gasp dramatically, her hands over her heart, "How could you say that! Take that back!"
After a minute of back-to-back roasting, she finally calms herself down. The said Oni holds her hand up with demand, "The essence?" Lydia feigned ignorance as she sulkily turns her head away from (O/n). "We haven't met up for 17 years and this is the greeting I got?" (O/n) sighs tiredly as she casts a somber look, "Chen got ahold of (Y/n)'s life essence..." That brought up the said ghost's attention. She turns around and meets (O/n) eye to eye with a worrisome gaze. "(O/n), tell me she's okay...you promised you'll take care of her."
The Oni's pupil dilated as she faced the ghost of her friend, lips pursed. Lydia peered into her eyes before she nods in understanding. Turning herself into an orb, she floated into (O/n)'s open palms. The orb flickers lively, "...Bring me to her....bring me to my daughter..."
