Rhiannon Tate

Today is the day. The day me and Vinnie get to move back in together. I've been waiting for this day since we moved out of his childhood home back in Seattle. It's been a minute since we've been able to say we lived together, even though we spent every night together, somehow.

Today is going to be the start of a band new chapter in our lives. We are grown ups living together now, we get to do whatever we want and do it together instead of having to invite the other or just tell them our plans for the days. Our plans will finally coincide with each other once again.

Maybe I'm being over dramatic, I'm not sure. All I know is, I've been counting down the days until today.

I finished packing my necessities in a small moving box, and sealed it with packing tape. I slid it over to the edge of the door frame, so I could make sure it made the trip, I couldn't leave it here it was the most important box after all.

My phone was vibrating on the counter in the bathroom. I saw a silly picture of Vinnie's face on the screen with his name across the top. I clicked the green button and put the phone to my ear. "Hello?" I asked, sliding boxes out to the hall way so we could take them down the stairs when he got here to help move my stuff. "Hey, I'm on the way to you from the new house. I gotta get some gas do you want anything while I'm out?" He asked. "Maybe a sprite, please. Also, are we taking two separate cars, or am I riding with you to the new house?" I asked. "Probably two cars, that we can take more stuff." He said.

Duh, it made sense after he said it. That was a dumb question. "That was stupid. sorry." I said. "Don't be sorry it's okay. Any other time I would be over joyed for you to ride with me, but today I'm just ready to be done with this already." he said. I laughed, "No I understand. I forgot the plan was to take as less trips as possible. I'm gonna start packing my car now and I'll be ready to help you when you get here." I said. "Okay baby, I love you. I'll bring you a sprite." he said. "I love you too, thank you." I said.

We hung up, and I started my journey back and forth, up and down the stairs, with boxes and suitcases. I passed Chase on the steps. "You need some help?" He asked. "you wanna help me?" I asked shocked at his question. Normally he just walks right past me. "Uh, well it looks like you're struggling. You've gone up and down these stairs probably 10 times in the past 30 minutes." he said, as I went back and grabbed another box.

"I mean if you want to help, you can. But if you're just offering to be nice, then don't bother." I said. For some reason, I wasn't in the mood for his shit today. "I was genuinely asking." he said. "okay then, get a box. I don't have much time." I said. He did as I said, I didn't have time to just stand there and talk, I was trying to get something done, on a time limit and he was ruining my rhythm.

I placed the box in the trunk of my car, and watched as chase came quickly behind me. He handed me the box, "I don't know where you want this." he said. I took it from him, "it's fine, i'll take it." I said. He turned around and went back in the house, this time picking up a random bag that was next to the pile of stuff I had to put in the car, and a box.

I didn't remember what was in the bag, "just put that bag in my front seat, I don't want it to get crushed by boxes, whatever it is." I said. "Okay." he said starting to the car, I took a box which had my sheets and stuff in it, and walked to the car with it. It was light enough I could carry it without feeling like I was gonna pass out when I hit the bottom of the stairs.

By the time, I made it to the car, chase was putting his box in the back of my car and Vinnie was pulling in next to my loaded up car. "I guess I'll let him finish this." he mumbled as Vinnie stepped out of the car. "Yeah he can help me finish. Thanks for helping me." I said. He walked into the house and I didn't see him again. Vinnie looked at me, with a shocked expression.
