Taylor's POV

I still can believe it. My mother is alive. She is alive.

Well she looks different though. She looks more masculine. Like really masculine. She also looks tanner but it makes sense, we are in a desert. The thing that worries me is the scar. She has a scar on her right eyebrow that starts a little higher than her eyebrow and ends in her cheek. It looks like an old scar so I am guessing she is fine now. At least I hope so.

There is also a difference in her eyes. The way she looks around is terrifying. Like she has no emotion. It can be because we are here and she has to be taught, or it can be just my imagination.

Anyway, she and the other two people she was with took us all out of there and now we are safe and sound on the base. Mom is in an office talking with some people. Well, more like screaming to some people for letting untrained soldiers go in a mission and stuff like that.

James is still alive, although he lost a lot of blood. He is stable now and they say he will be fully recovered in a couple of weeks. So that is good news.

They informed the families about the soldiers that died but they didn't let any one of us call our families.

Ally and David are fine. Turns out the man that was with us betrayed us and that is why we got caught.

I didn't got the chance to talk to my mother. So now I am sitting outside of the building she is in and waiting. I have a lot of questions that need to be answered and I really want to know what is she going to say.

I have so many questions but the most important one is...Why?

It's been two years why didn't she came back? Why did she let us think she is dead? Why would she do that? I don't get it. Doesn't she love us anymore? Didn't   she missed her wife or Silvia? Didn't she missed her kids? Doesn't she want to meet her son? Does she even know she has a son? Does she know we thought she was dead? If she didn't then why didn't she called us?

So many questions I want an answer to...

My thoughts got interrupted when the door opened and she got out along with her team. She stoped as soon as she saw me. Then she told her team to leave us alone and that she will be fine.

Of course she will be fine? What do they think I am going to do? Kill my own mother?

"Hey." She said and sat next to me.

I didn't know what to say so I stayed quiet.

"Look, I know you have some questions as to why I am not dead but..." wait.

"So you knew? You knew that we thought you were dead and you did nothing about it?" I said raising my voice.

"Taylor, let me explain. Please!" She told me trying to grab my hand but I pulled it away from her reach and stood up.

"Explain what? You left us! You were supposed to be always there for us and protect us but you left. How could you?" I basically screamed at her the last part.

"Look Taylor, I left because I had to. To protect you and the rest of them. I love you guys so much that I had to do something. And this was the only option." She told me.

"Let's say I believe that part. It's been two years. Two whole years. Why didn't you came back? Or why didn't you at least called us ones?" Why did you told us you were dead?" I ask. I am really mad right now. People around us are watching but I don't give a fuck right now.

"I went on a mission and I was MIA for six months. They probably declared me dead. When I came back I wanted to come and find you but... you were all better of without me. You didn't need me anymore." She said and I scoffed.

"We didn't need you? Who said that? We fucking NEEDED you when mama was in and out of the hospital. We NEEDED you when Silvia was sick and giving birth to your son. A son that NEEDS you because you are his mother. Lia NEEDED you when she was getting bullied. I FUCKING NEEDED YOU WHEN MY GIRLFRIEND DIED IN MY ARMS..." I took a deep breath. She had an emotionless expression that was driving me mad. After I calmed down a little  looked her in the eyes. "Don't tell me we didn't need you or that we were better of without you. Apparently you don't know what we need." I told her as calm as I could and left her alone, standing there.

I really can't handle all of this.

Alex's POV

I was watching her as she was walking away.

My little monkey grew up and now she is broken. I could see it in her eyes. Its probably the thing about Emma. Even though I was keeping tabs on them I didn't know that. I was watching them, making sure they were fine. But the last month I was undercover in a mission and I lost track of them. Otherwise I wouldn't let her enlist.

It's my fault that happened.

I sighed and made my way towards my tent.

I got in and took my shirt of because it was full of sweat and blood. I opened a mini fridge and took a beer out of it and drank it all almost immediately.

I felt hands going around my waist and playing with my abs. I look but to see Eleanor smirking at me.

"So I am guessing it didn't go well with the daughter... too bad." She said while kiss the back of my neck.

"Stop that Eleanor." I told her pushing her away while grabbing another beer from the fridge.

Eleanor is a member of my team. She is really good with guns and weapons but she is great for undercover missions and with seduction techniques, not that she is a whore  or something. Obviously not. She is just a really attractive woman that knows how to flirt.

She and Peter are the two members of my team. Peter is the tech guy, the nerd of the group. But he is a really good guy and knows how to  take orders.

Both of them have been helping me a lot especially when I was on my worst. Mostly Eleanor to be honest.

But the only thing that seems to actually help me is the fucking beer in my hand.

I took another one from the fridge and started drinking again
