Summer's POV
"Your mother did the best she could. I should have been there for you." I told my daughter, trying really hard to contain my tears. I feel terrible I lost such a big part of my daughters' lives. I should have been there to help her through her first period and other stuff like that. I am thankful that she had Alex. Even though she couldn't do everything she was more than enough and raised two perfect kids. And I am also thankful that my sister was there, to help her through it all.
"It's ok mom. You are here now." Lia said and we shared a much needed hug.
Our moment got interrupted by my sister's phone ringing. That caught all of our attention.
It said Dexter.
This could be really bad or really good.
"Yes..." Sara said picking up the phone. "...Who?" There was a pause there. Everyone was quiet. Trying to listen to their conversation over the phone. "WHO?" My sister almost screamed and then turned around to look at me in the eyes. "Ok, thank you." She said and hung up.
"What happened?" Ava asked her. Even though she doesn't know Alex that well, she still cares. She is a member of our family after all.
"That was Dexter. First of all, he told me that Alex is fine but he still doesn't know what will happen with her case. She will keep us posted." Sara said and gave me a quick glance before looking away.
"What else did he say, Sara?" I asked her, not taking my eyes off her.
"He also told me, who told the agency about Alex." My sister told me and came closer to me. "Don't do anything stupid ok?"
"Who was it Sara?" I asked her again loosing my patience. It must be that bitch that tried to destroy us. Her father was the only one who knew about it. It must be her. When I find her it is over for her...
"Ok. I will tell you. He said that the name of the person that reported her was... Phillip Jones.
"What?" I asked in disbelief. No! I know he doesn't like her but, he is my father. My knees became weak and I sat / fell on the couch behind me.
My own father is trying to kill my wife. How could he?
"He did what? I don't care that he is my grandpa, I will kick his ass if something happens to mom because of him." Taylor said. She sounded pretty angry and I understand her completely.
"Taylor, honey try calm down. I know what you feel but your mom would not like for you to have a fight with your grandpa." Silvia said trying to calm her down.
"No. Enough is enough. He crossed a line. And I know mom doesn't want me to know this but I do, and grandpa hates me. Why should I respect him when he does not even consider me as his granddaughter? He only sees me as an abomination and the reason why mom is, according to him, 'unhappy and trapped' with mom." When she finished what she was saying she was out of breath and her eyes where tearing up.
I walked towards her and placed my hands on her cheeks. "You are not an abomination. You are so beautiful and unique with a heart of gold. Just like your mother. And I am not trapped because of you. You are the best thing that happened to me. I could never be unhappy with you. He is just a stupid old man and you are right. He went too far this time. And I will handle him." I told her kissing her forehead and hugging her. "I love you so much baby!"
"I love you too mama." She said calming down in my arms.
"Now stay here with your sister and your aunt Ava. Ok? If something happens we will call you." I told her taking my keys and going towards the car.
