Chapter 20

* * * ONE MONTH LATER * * *

Alex's  POV

The last couple of weeks have been weird. After Summer and Silvia talked to me I've been a little distant towards them.

It is not that I don't love them obviously, and who wouldn't want to have two incredible women form every aspect. It is just, I don't feel like the same person I was. I haven't told anyone but since I stopped drinking, I can't even sleep at nights. My thoughts and memories are haunting me and when I do manage to sleep, the nightmares come.

I am a grown as woman and I am loosing my sleep because of some stupid dreams. Thank god, Taylor's room is soundproof. I don't want anyone to find out.

I have been working a lot with myself. Trying to get better. I even got advice by a specialis but all of that in secrecy.

If I get lucky, an apartment will be available soon so I will get the hell out of here.

Even being in the same room as them is enough to drive me crazy. I want them so much. I want to touch them, to hug them, to kiss them... I want them but I can't hurt them if I am not ready.

As much as it hurts me, I am not sure  if I am ready for a relationship.

Thankfully I have my kids. They keep me busy. Aj is not leaving my side. He is always around me, which I am not complaining. He is such a good boy and it is incredibly interesting to watch him form his own personality. To become his own person. Of course he is still too young but it is the small things that matter.

Lia and Taylor are kind of the same. Trying to spend as much time with me as possible.

And of course the other baby of the family, Sara. I hang out a lot with her a lot. I met her girlfriend Ava, which I like for her. I also found out that she is trying to stay sober too so at least we have each other.

I kept my promise and didn't drink anything that contains alcohol since then. I will do it for my kids. They give me strength to fight.

Now I was with Aj in the living room watching a Disney movie when the door opened and both Summer and Silvia got in.

They were talking about something but I wasn't paying attention to them until I heard them call my name.

"Alex!" Summer said and I turned to look at them

"Aj, let's go wash your hands so you can eat something, you can finish the movie later with you mom." Silvia said and Aj went with her to the bathroom.

Summer came and sat next to me. "Are you ok?" She asked me concerned grabbing my hand.

"Yes, of course. I am fine." I said and took my hand away from hers.

This pains me as much as her. "You have been distant lately." She said trying not to sound hurt.

"I have actually been working on a new work idea." I told her and she nodded her head.

"So... Are you busy tonight?" She said with a bit of excitement in her voice.

"Not really, why?" I asked her and narrowed my eyebrows. What does she have in mind?
