Chapter 30

Alex's POV

"Yes, I will be right back." I told her over the phone.

"You are taking forever." She was whining over the phone.

Well to be honest, I did left very early in the morning and now it is almost dinner time. But I have so much work to do. You can't build a company from one day to another...

"I know angel but I have to be here. Trust me I want nothing more than to be there with my family." I told Silvia over the phone.

"Yes but it is almost a week that you leave early and come home late. With your job and my jod I haven't seen you all week. I miss you." She said over the phone.

It is true. I might be overdoing this a little but I won't be like that forever.

"I miss you too love. I know it is hard but we will get through this. How are the kids? I haven't seen them in days." I miss all of them so frickin much.

"They miss you too. Aj has been asking for you all day. Lia also asked a couple of times. Taylor on the other hand is barely at home. I think something is happening with her but I have no idea. You should check on her. You have a way to make them talk to you." Silvia said sounding a little  troubled with the last part.

"I will have it on my mind. Now I have to get back to work." I said but before I could hung up the phone I heard my wife yelling from the back.

"Is that Alex? Let me talk to her!" Oh, great...  "Alex what the hell do you think you are doing?" She asked me clearly mad.

"I believe I am working honey. Or at least I try..." I whispered the last part.

"Alexandra Dane! You promised me that you would never put your work before your family. This is exactly what you do now!" She yelled at me.

"Look Summer I know. It is just for a little while. When everything is in  order I will be spending far more time with you guys." I said and heard her sigh.

"Just come back home as fast as you can. Preferably before Aj's bed time." She said giving up.

"I will do my best baby girl. Now I really have to go back. I love you guys!" I said and they said their goodbye 's before  we hung up.

I tried to focus on my work and get as much things done us possible but the only thing in my mind was my family. I really miss them a lot. And my wife is right. I do need to spend more time with them.

So that is what I did.

I left earlier from work than I planned to and went home.

Aj was so happy to see me, he took me to his room and we stayed there, playing for almost an hour. He is such a smart boy. I love him so much.

After out play time he got tired and a little hungry so he went to find his mama to feed him.

I was walking towards the kitchen when I saw Lia exiting her room.

"Mom!" She said surprised and paused in front of her door.

"Hi princess. How are you?" I asked walking closer so I could hug her.

She returned my hug and said "I am good. I missed you."

"I missed you too princess. Sorry about me being absent, work is a little demanding right now." I said and she just nodded her head.

She was about to say something when the door of her room opened and Helena was standing there. When she saw me she froze and gulped.

"I didn't know you were in my house." I told her seriously and that made her nervous.

"Mom don't scare her. Mama and ma know about this." Lia said getting between us.

"And why don't I?" I asked my daughter raising an eyebrow.

"Well if you were here you would." She told me. Well she has a point to be honest.

"Fair enough. But the door stays open." I said pointing my index finger at Helena.

"Yes ma'am!" Was all she said before I left them.

I don't want to hurt Helena. To be honest I quite like her. I just want her to be alert and well aware of what is going to happen if she hurts my daughter.

Anyways, I decided to pay my little monkey a visit but when I entered her room, no one was there.

So I went to the kitchen instead. I found both my girls. Summer was feeding our son while Silvia was making tea.

"Why didn't you tell me my princess's girlfriend was here?" I asked them.

"So you won't go terrorize the poor kid." Summer said like it was the most logical thing in the entire world.

"That is my job as her parent." I answered her.

"No, your job is to support her and trust her." Silvia said.

"I do that! I am also trying to protect her. And I am not that bad with Helena. I am just keeping her a little on edge." I said.

"You are terrifying the kid." Silvia said again.

"Well, if she is getting scared that easily she should not be with my daughter!" My daughter deserves the best. There is no discussion there...

"Well, now that our big boy ate his food it is time for bed." Summer said picking him up. "And after that it is my turn for play time." She wispered and winked while walking pass me and towards AJ's room.

"Well, someone is in the mood." Silvia said catching up on our little conversation as she came closer to me with a smirk on her face.

God she is beautiful!

I am one lucky person.

I pulled her towards me and started kissing down her  neck which made her chuckle.

Our brief moment got interrupted but the bell ringing.

I groaned and stepped back so I could go open the door.

"It is probably Taylor. She must have forgotten her keys!" Silvia said.

As I went there and opened the door I was very surprised to find two agents from my previous  job at my doorstep.

"Can I help you?" I asked them a little troubled.

"Is an Alexandra Dane here?" One of them asked.

By now both Summer and Silvia were behind me looking curiously at the situation.

"That is me." I told them and one of them turned me forcefully around and pulled my hands behind my back and hung cuffed me.

"Alexandra Dane you are under arrest for treason against the country. You have the right  to remain silent and refuse to answer any questions. Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future."  The other officer said.

"Alex what is happening?" Summer asked me with tears in her eyes.

I looked at both of them and they were both in shock and on the verge of tears.

"I know this is scary but it is going to be ok. I am going to be ok. Both of you have to stay calm for the kids. And please call Sara. She will know what to do!" I told them as the officer pulled me out of my house and towards their car.

I was scared this was going to happen. I have to find a way to solve this. I hope Sara can help me!
