Chapter 39

Alex's POV

If she hurts my daughter I will fucking break her! And this is a promise.

I am not letting my feelings get in the way on this one. She went too far going after my daughter. Now it is time for her  to come clean.

I am just worried about Taylor. I don't want her to have feelings for Anastasia. This would be really bad for her, especially after what happened  with Emma.

I arrived at the coffee shop they were and stayed at my car for a little, trying to figure out the vibe between them but unfortunately I didn't got much. It could easily be either friendly or romantic.

I had to intervene fast so I did.

I got out of my car and went to their table. I pulled a chair and sat next to Anastasia.

Taylor looked at me shocked. "Mom? What are you doing here?"

Anastasia's eyes widened when she saw me and especially after she heard the word 'mom's coming out of Taylor's mouth.

"A-Alex? This is not what it looks like I swear!" She said panicking.

"You two know each other?" Taylor asked.

"Oh, she didn't tell you? How about you tell her now?" I asked Anastasia and she dropped her head low but she didn't say a word. 

"Taylor you should leave. It is not safe here!" I told my daughter.

"I am not going anywhere until you explain what the fuck is going on. I am tired of you doing whatever you want and not talking with us about it.  Now this is my life and I will do what I want." Taylor raised her voice.

"This is a very wrong time for this Taylor."

"I don't care! You are not even the hero you pretend you are!" Taylor said.

"For God's sake Taylor, just go to the car and I will explain everything." She was about to answer me but Anastasia moved her hand towards her back and thankfully I saw her and grabbed her hand to stop her. After that I reached behind her back and pulled out a gun.

Taylor was again shocked.

"You want to know what happened? This woman right here, this is the reason I was captured. She was supposed to be a friend but she betrayed everyone. You are mad at me for saying what I said to protect my kid but you are right here hanging out  with the person that told them how to capture me, how to torture me, how to break me! So for once in your life, can you listen to me?"

"Is it true?" Taylor asked Anastasia.

"Yes. But Taylor I... I didn't know you where her daughter,  I swear.  Alex please you have to believe me. You are not the only one with a family! I did what I did for my brother. He needed surgery and we couldn't afford it. I never intended to hurt you or your family!"

"What you did was..." I was about to go off but Taylor stoped me.

"Exactly the same thing you did!" She said.

I stopped for a second to think about it and she has a point. I betrayed my country to save my daughter and she betrayed me to save her brother. 

I can't really judge her can I?

It would be wrong.

"You have a point. But she is a wanted criminal. And I don't think they will treat her the way they treated me." I said.

"Because her mom isn't the president of a whole ass country? Only you get the special treatment." Taylor said.

"Taylor! Show some respect to your mother!" A voice was heard from behind us and it was obviously Summer.

"Summer? What are you doing here? I thought I told you to..." she interrupted me. Why do all of them interrupt me all the time?

"I left him with Silvia and I came to protect my baby." She said and squeezed Taylor's cheeks which mabe Anastasia chuckle.

"Ok, you two stay here and I will go with Anastasia to solve her problem. Taylor, I will do the best I can to help her. I promise." I told them and Taylor nodded her head.

I walked away with Anastasia right behind me.

"Why are you helping me? After what I did to you." She asked me as we got in the car.

"I am not doing it for you, I do this for Taylor. And I understand why you did what you did. Although you better not have a gun around my daughter again because I will kill you if something happens to her!" I told her.

"I know you will. I really didn't know she was your daughter." She said.

"So what is the deal with the two of you? You know she is not in a good place right now. I mean mentally." I asked her.

"She told me about Emma. And I don't want to hurt her so we are taking things slow, but I really like her." She said blushing a little.

"You  better not hurt her." I told her and got out of the car. She followed right behind me.

"Are we...?" She asked shocked as she saw where we were.

"Yes, we are." I said.

I went towards the entrance of the building and show them my badge before they could ask me.

I went in and I saw the person I was looking for.

"I want you to do the same thing you did for me, for her. No charges or anything. She is free from now on!" I told my mother.

"Why do you want that? She hurt you?" My mother asked me.

"Life is more complicated than you think. So as a favor to me, please do that. I will owe you one." I said and looked down. I don't want to owe her anything but I will for Taylor.

"Very well, she is free. And you don't owe me anything Alex." She said and came closer to me. She placed her hand on my cheek and pushed my face up so I could look at her. "I am the one that owes you everything."

Alex you are a soldier! You can't have emotions. Not here, not now.

"Thank you." I said and left.

As I was about to exit the house, I ran into my sister and a man that I believe is my brother.

"What is she doing in our house?" He asked a little mad.

"She is your sister Markus!" My mother said.

"No she is not!"
"No I am not!"
We both said at the same time and I continued leaving but stopped and turned to my sister.

"I am really sorry about the other day. I was overwhelmed. I hope you can forgive me and maybe we could go out for a coffee some day?" I asked her.

I was thinking about her and the way I treated her. I was a dick.

She smiled at me. "I would love that!" She said and hugged me.

Thankfully her brother went somewhere else and wasn't there to see that. I don't want to fight with him. From what I know he is just like his father...

And with that, me and Anastasia left the house and went to find the others!
