When we got home, Ara and I went up to my room. I let Midnight out and she cuddles into Ara's arms.
"You can put your stuff where ever you want," I tell her, setting my trunk down and shoving it under my bed. Ara sets her two trunks down next to my bed. Dad burst into the room.
"Hello!" he sings, "what shall we do now?" Ara giggles and I sigh.
"I don't know, Dad," I tell him, "I think we were just going to talk.."
"About school?" Dad asks, hopping onto my bed, "Spill the tea!" I sign again, shaking my head.
"What do you want to know, Mr. Potter?" Ara asks, setting Midnight next to Dad. I sit down on my floor and Ara sits next to me.
"Boys!" James shouts, making me jump, "Cute boys?" I look at Ara and shake my head again.
"Dad.." I growl, "trust me.. we don't really want to date right now." Dad groans.
"You don't have to date them!" he says, "you just think they're cute."
"James leave the girls alone!" Mum shouts from downstairs, "Come down here and help me make dinner!" Dad groans.
"Alright, love!" he shouts back, rolling off the bed, dramatically, "I'll be back for the tea!" He runs out giggling.
"Oh Merlin," Ara says, "he.. something.." I nod.
"Yep," I tell her, "him and Evie. Harry's the lesser of three evils." Ara giggles.
"I love this family already," she says, putting her arm around my shoulder. I laugh.
You have met Sirius yet.. you'll just love him.
"I'm surprised my uncles haven't come over yet," I tell her, truly baffled by the fact Sirius hadn't barged through my door, "last year one of them knocked down Harry's door. Maybe Mum's keeping them occupied.." Ara starts to laugh.
"I'm not joking, Ara!" I grumble, "He did! Mum had to fix his door twice.. Because he broke it again." Ara laughs harder, bending over and putting her head in her hands.
"He sounds amazing!" she giggles, "Can't wait to meet him!" I hear yelling from downstairs and sigh.
"I don't think you'll have to wait much longer," I grumble, "I can hear them downstairs." Ara pops up and pulls me up.
"Let's go, Goldie," she shouts, "If they are anything like your parents, I'm gonna love them!" I laugh as she pulls me after her down the stairs." Uncle Sirius and Uncle Remus were sitting on the coach and Dad was talking to them from the kitchen.
"GOLDIE!" Sirius shouts, jumping up and hugging me, "you're in Gryffindor! Oh Merlin, I wanted to send you a howler, but James said he already sent you one. I'm so proud of you!" He lets do off me and turns to Ara.
"Uncle Sirius, Uncle Remus," I say, "this is Ara, my friend." Sirius shakes Ara's hand and Remus nods.
"Does Ara have a last name?" Remus asks, smiling, and getting up to hug me. Ara looks at me, sheepishly. Remus kisses me on the forehead.
"Malfoy," she whispers, "at least used to be.. I hate it." Sirius looks at me.
"Welcome to the club!" he says, playfully slapping her shoulder, "I'm a Black.. but I don't associate." Ara smiles and turns her hair black.
"You remind me of Tonks," Sirius says, "she's my cousin.."
"I know Tonks!" Ara says, her hair shifting to a bubble gum pink, "I love Tonks! She's awesome!" Sirius chuckles and looks at me.
"I like her," he says. Remus sits back down on the couch and Sirius sits next to him.
"Goldie said you broke Harry's door down last year," Ara says, making me flush. Sirius laughs and Remus sighs.
"He did," he says, "I still can't believe it.. You would think that once you heard the cracking you would stop." Mum comes in and glares at Sirius.
"You were going to do the same to Goldie's door, but we stopped you, thankfully," she says, and Ara giggles.
"You're so weird, Uncle Sirius," I say, "I can't believe you live with him, Uncle Remus." Remus laughs.
"You get used to him," he mumbles. I smile and sit down next to Remus. Ara sits next to me and Sirius.
"Goldie," Mum says, "could you go get your sister and brother?" I hop right up and go upstairs. I knock on Harry's door. Harry opens it slowly.
"It's time for dinner, Harry," I tell him. Harry smiles and opens the door all the way. Evie was sitting on the bed with Harry's quidditch uniform.
"Coming, Evie?" I ask her. She nods and runs out of the room and next to me.
"Will you tell me about Hogwarts after dinner?" she asks, smiling.
"Totally," I tell her, walking back down the stairs. Sirius, Remus, and Ara were sitting at the table. I sit down next to Ara and Evie sits next to me.
"Hiya, Evie," Sirius says, tossing her a bread roll. Ara looks at me and smiles.
"Hi, Uncle Sirius!" Evie says, "Uncle Remus!" I start to eat some of my spaghetti. Dad sits down across from me.
"Who gave you that ring, Goldie?" he asks, and I glare at him.
"A friend of mine," I mumble, looking down at my food. Ara nudges my foot under the table.
"Do they have a name?" Remus says, and I glare at him.
"Cedric," I whisper, fidgeting with my hands under the table.
"It's a boy?" Sirius asks, "You have a boy friend? Wow, Goldie, I can't believe it!" My face turns bright red.
"They're just friends," Ara giggles, and I kick her. Remus chokes on his water.
"Yeah," James says, "cause just a friend would get you a ring." I try to continues to eat, but my appetite was gone.
"Leave her alone, boys," Mum says, "I bet Cedric is a very nice boy."
"I talked to him at the train station," Dad says, "he's a Hufflepuff. And a fifth year." I sigh.
"He plays quidditch," Harry offers, "A seeker." I look down at my lap. I start to fidget with my ring.
"He's to old, Goldie," Dad says, "Your mother and I are in the same year.. Why don't you try and find someone in your own year?"
"I'm not going out with him!" I yell, regretting it as soon as I did and I quietly mumble, "we're just friends." Everyone gets quiet.
"May I be excused?" I whisper, tears threatening to fall. Mum nods and I walk to my room. Someone gets up to follow me, but they don't follow me into my room.
