After Ginny comes out with her wand we head to the pet store. This is what I was really excited for. Harry has a beautiful owl named, Hedwig. I was thinking of getting an owl, but a cat would be alright too. Ginny was getting a pet as well.
"What are you going to get, Goldie?" Ginny asks me, smiling.
"Either an owl or a cat," I reply with, "Harry already has an owl I could probably use."
"I'm getting a cat," Ginny says, "we've got a family owl." I nod. We get to the pet store and go in. There were bats, spiders, rats, toads, cats, and owls everywhere. Ginny and I head for the cats. There were two small kittens, one black, the other white. I bend down to pet them. The black one jumps onto me and starts to purr. Ginny laughs and bends down next to me. The white kitten walks over and rubs against Ginny's leg.
"Hello," I say, to the black kitten, "you're adorable, aren't you?" It meows at me and lays down in my lap. The white kitten was playing with Ginny's shoestrings.
"How cute!" Mrs. Weasley says, "do think that's the one, Ginny?" Ginny nods and picks up the white kitten. I stroke the black one that was purring in my lap.
"You like that one, Goldie?" Mum asks me.
"Yeah," I say softly, smiling. I pick the purring kitten from my lap and into my arms. It's meows and snuggles into may arms.
"Let's go," Mum says, motioning to the counter that Mrs. Weasley and Ginny where at, paying for the white kitten. Mum and I walk over and wait behind them. When it's our turn we pay for the kitten.
"That's a nice kitten you've picked out," the shop owner says, "very calm and relaxed, unlike her sister." The shop owner point to Ginny's kitten. They get us a carrier and some food.
"Thank you," Mum says, as we walk out. I had to put my kitten in it carrier.
"You guys have gotta pick out names for them now," Mrs. Weasley says, smiling. I didn't know what to name mine.
"I like Snowflake for mine," Ginny says.
"That's cute," I say, smiling. Think of something black, Goldie.
"Midnight or Nova?" I ask, looking around.
"I like Midnight," Mrs. Weasley and Mum says. I nod.
"Midnight it is," I say, smiling.
"We should get back to the boys," Mum say, "before they do anything to stupid." Mrs. Weasley nods and we go to the Leaky Cauldron."Hey," Harry says, when he sees us, "you got your wand?" I nod and see Ginny's face. It was red and she was stiff.
"Yep," I say, "and I got a cat! Her name is Midnight!" Harry smiles at me and pulls me into a hug.
"We're going to the Weasley's for dinner!" Everlyn shouts, running toward Harry and I.
"We are?" I ask, looking at my dad, who was just behind her.
"Yeah," he says, "if that's alright." I look over at Ginny who was still staring at Harry.
"That'll be fine," I say, taking Ginny's stiff hand and leading her away from my brother.
"Hey!" I say, waving my hand in front of her face. Ginny does not reply of even notice that I had moved her away from Harry. I snap my fingers in front of her face. She blinks and looks at me.
"Sorry," she says, "didn't mean to space out." I smile.
"My family and I are going over to your house for dinner," I tell her. She smiles. I look over to the big group of Weasleys.
"It'll be great," she says, sensing my discomfort, "we don't even have to sit with the boys, if you don't want to." I smirk, looking over at the twins.
"I think I'll be alright," I say, motioning for her to follow me.When we get to the Weasleys' house I am amazed at how big the house was.
"You all can go and play while I make dinner," Mrs. Weasley says, smiling. Ginny grabs my hand and takes me to her room.
"What should be do?" she asks, sitting down on her bed.
"I don't know," I reply, slowly sitting down next to her, "have you heard much about Hogwarts?"
"Fred and George said we'd be sorted in front of the entire school," Ginny says, wringing her hands.
"Great," I say, "Harry said the same thing. And that quidditch is the only fun part about school beside your friends."
"Do you play?" Ginny asks, "I've heard Harry's really good."
"I play," I mumble, "I'm a beater when my family plays."
"Cool," Ginny says, "I think I'm a chaser, personally. Fred and George are the Gryffindor beaters!"
"Awesome," I say, "what house do you want to be in?"
"Gryffindor," Ginny says, "everyone in my family has always been in Gryffindor. Hufflepuff wouldn't be to bad, though."
"My dad said he'll disown me if I'm not in Gryffindor," I tell her, "I hope he's joking. I'm not brave. I'll probably be a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw."
"As long as you aren't a Slytherin," Ginny says, jokingly.
"Then I'd definitely be out of a place to live," I grumble. Ginny puts an arm around me and gives me a side hug.
"You could always live here," she says, "and besides, I don't think your parents would disown you." I smile. A knock from the door startles Ginny and I.
"Hey!" Fred says, with George right behind him, "wondered if you'd like to go outside and fly around a bit."
"Harry said you're a beater, Goldie," George says, "that's what we play too!" I nod, looking over at Ginny.
"Why not?" she says, jumping up. I follow her. We get downstairs and Harry is waiting for us. We head for a hill that Harry called the Quidditch Hill. Ron and a girl I had not met yet were flying on a broomstick.
"Ron!" Harry shouts, "Hermione! I've got someone for you to meet, Mione!" Ron flies down to the ground and the girl jumps off the broom.
