Dear Goldie,
I cannot wait for our date. I am still counting down the days until June 10th. Your studying seems to be coming along then. If you are already on chapter twenty in Transfiguration, you must be flying through all of it. Dumbledore is probably just waiting for you to send him an owl for the rest of the notes. Just send him one, it will not hurt anything. Are you sure you do not want me to pick you up from your house? I know you said that your uncles are crazy and would probably be there, but I would like to meet them. It is your decision. They cannot be much weirder than Ara.. hi, by the way. I am sure that you are reading over Goldie's shoulder. Well, anyways. I will see you next week, Goldie.
Love,
Cedric

Dear Cedric,
If you would like to pick me up from my house, you may. But do not say I did not warn you. Uncle Sirius is the one you truly have to worry about. Maybe you would be so sweet to tell me what we are going to do on this date? I just sent Dumbledore a letter asking for more notes. I will see you in two days, and hopefully I will know what we are doing before you get here. And yes, Ara is also reading this over my shoulder. I cannot wait to see you in two days.
Love,
Goldie

"Marigold!" Dad shouts, just as I buckle up my heels, "Your date is here!" I stumble as I reach for my doorhandle.
"I'll be right down, Dad," I shout back, "Please behave." I look into my mirror and run my fingers through my curls. I slip on my ring and take on more glance at the mirror. My nice mint dress hits my knees and does not cover my shoulders. I rush down the stairs, trying not to fall in my excitement. As soon as I hit the main floor I can hear Cedric trying to make pleasant conversation with Sirius and Dad.
"How much older are you than Goldie again?"
"Four years."
"You aren't a Gryffindor are you?"
"No, I am a Hufflepuff." I burst into the living room and grab Cedric's hand.
"Leave him alone, guys," I say, as Cedric turns to me. He smiles and squeezes my hand. Sirius laughs.
"We were just giving him a friendly hello." Dad says, "Now, you'll have her home by eight, right?" Cedric nods.
"Bye, Dad.. Sirius, Mum."
"Goodbye, Goldie."

"Where are we going?" I ask Cedric, after we've walked a while.
"To a café," he answers, "I thought we could get some tea and biscuits. Then we can just talk." I nod and link my arm with his.
"That sounds wonderful," I answer, "it'll be wonderful to just catch up. I've miss you so much." We finally get to the town center and he leads me into a small café. He orders me a tea and a piece of angel food cake. I sit down and he sets our food down.
"How has your summer been, Ced?" I ask, as I take a bite of cake.
"It's been nice," he answers, "I've been spending a lot of time with friends and family. Swimming and running mostly. I know what you've been doing all summer, but what about you? Do you have a favorite subject? Has Dumbledore answered you?"
"Transfiguration is hands down my favorite," I reply, "McGonagall gave me some of my dad's old notes and they have notes from him and my uncles on them. Charms is also amazing... Dumbledore gave me more notes yesterday." Cedric smiles and grabs one of my hands.
"I can't believe that my girlfriend is that smart.. and cute." I shake my head and smile.
"You're still such a flirt."
"Of course.. but you like it, don't you?"
"Yeah, I love it, Ced." We finish our food and Cedric leads me over to a muggle bookstore. I go in and immediately start looking through the shelves. The golden writing of Lord of the Rings catches my eyes.
"What is this about?" I ask, taking the large book off the shelf.
"Of course you grabbed the largest book on the shelf." Cedric chuckles and grabs the book. He walks over to the counter and pays for it.
"This is for you.. to wind down," he says. I take the book and smile.
"Thank you.. you're so sweet." He takes my hand and we walk back to my house. We get to the gates before the manor and we stop.
"We've still got fifteen minutes," I say, "before you have to go back into the chaos of my home." He kisses my forehead.
"I love the chaos.. and maybe I'll get bonus points for bring you back early." I smile and kiss his cheek. We walk up to the door and the door slams open. Sirius and Dad are standing there with huge smiles on their faces.
"Goldie! You're back!" they say in unison, "you're going to have to tell us everything! Run off now, Cedric." Mum pushes her way between the two of them and offers me an apologetic smile.
"Ignore them, sweetie," she says, "Cedric, if you'd like to come in you may." I look at Cedric and he is still smiling.
"Thank you, Mrs. Potter.. but I've gotta get home." I frown at him and give him a hug.
"Woah, woah, woah!" Dad shouts, "Three feet, three feet!" I shoot away from Cedric and he laughs.
"Bye, Goldie," he says, "I'll see you at the beginning of term." I frown at him, but nod.
"Bye, Cedric!" I wave as I walk into the house. I wait for the door to close before I turn on Sirius and Dad.
"What the heck was that about?" I ask, smacking them both with my new book. Dad recoils from me and looks for Mum for help.
"Don't look at me," she scolds, "you deserved that.. both of you."
"So how was it?"
"You don't get to know now." I walk up to my room and shut my door softly.
