Gina
The day of the grand ball was finally here, and the palace was chaos.
I had never seen so many people going in so many different directions all at the same time. Not to mention Levi was practically being held hostage by her future monster-in-law I mean the woman was psycho even after being told repeatedly that Levi's dress and jewelry had already been selected and don't get me going on her reaction the day she noticed the rock on Levi's ring finger.
I was excited for my best friend but the more I got to see this new world she would be living in the more worried I became.
Carson seemed like a nice guy and I could tell he honestly cared about Levi but what if that wasn't enough?
My thoughts were interrupted by the buzzing on my new and sad-looking phone. Now I am not being ungrateful or anything of the sort I mean it is a nice phone and I very much appreciated the gesture being that Tess has gotten her phone smashed and all but mine was still technically okay. Sure it was old and had seen better days but it worked.
Tearing my eyes from the piece of paper in front of me I turned to look at something that I was actually excited about.
That damn dress. It was stunning and never in my wildest dreams would I have ever envisioned myself wearing something like that. I mean, well, maybe in my wildest but certainly not in my reality.
Yet there it was, hanging perfectly from a solo dress rack and next to it the loveliest pair of black velvet stilettos. I had no idea how I was going to handle a full night of high society mingling and possible dancing while in heels but I had already committed and I'd be damned if I went back on my word now.
"Gina!" I heard what felt like pounding coming from my door as well as a hard jingle on my doorknob.
Yes, I locked my door because I came to learn early on that my friends have no sense of privacy. Well maybe, Levi but certainly not Tess. The child just barged in like it was all good. I mean there is a reason I only have three friends. I like my alone time.
Not to mention now I had to worry about Shannon as well I mean she was just as bad, no worse. I barely knew her and yet she acted like we were the best of friends. The woman was a social butterfly and I was a hermit.
"Go away" I groaned as I turned my attention back to the still blank sheet of paper.
"You've ignored my text messages for the last twenty minutes but that's enough. Now open the door, Gina. Shannon is already here, and you and I are the last to get ready!"
I groaned, tossing everything on my lap aside before flinging my legs off the side of the bed before marching towards the door and flinging the door open, "What?" I asked nearly exasperated.
"Have you even showered?" asked Tesla as she looked at me with what I could only describe as disappointment.
I barely got a chance to finish rolling my eyes at her before Shannon popped into view and slipped into the room just as Tess did.
"Have you even showered?" asked Shannon.
Oh God,... theirs two of them.
"Of course, I showered!" I say in frustration as I look between the two of them.
"When?" asks Shannon as Tess goes to hang her dress on the rack beside mine.
"This morning?" I shrug as if questioning my own answer. They both just look at each other and raise a brow in my direction.
"If that's the case what on earth have you been doing all day that you look like a truck ran you over?" asked Shannon.
"I do not!" I exclaim in my defense as I casually step in front of the mirror only to be slapped across the face. I really did look a complete mess. My hair was chaotic, and I hadn't even realized I had gotten marker stains on my hands and cheek.
