I was frozen in place I as watched my bedroom door open to it's full extend my eyes immediately locking with a very familiar shade of blue that seemed to be in as much shock as I was and though I could see his eyes look me up and down; a part of me wanting to allow him to continue I finally snapped back to reality and quickly covered myself with my hands too scared to bend over to pick up my towel.
"What the hell Carson!" I snapped my voice finally returning to me as I blinked away my own shock.
"Ugh-" he uttered but couldn't seem to find his words as he just continued to stare. I narrowed my eyes at him which didn't seem to do much at all.
"Carson!" I snapped. Calling him out again this time finally reaching him as he quickly turned around giving me his back as I quickly took the chance to reach down for my towel and wrapping it around me.
"Don't you knock" I questioned. My eyes still searching around for the robe I'd been wearing earlier before finally spotting it tossed over the bed. Snatching it up quickly I threw it on before slipping the towel out from under it and tightening the strap.
"I-I'm so sorry" he stuttered finally finding his voice his back still turned to me.
I sighed crossing my arms over my chest as I nodded to myself, "Alright, well you can turn around now I'm covered" I said nervously as I hugged myself my palms rubbing against my arms as I tried to steady myself.
I mean you'd think after last nights events I wouldn't really care but I did, there was a difference between willingly walking around in your intimates in front of a man and just having him walk in on you in your birthday suit.
"I think I'll just go wait out side the door for you" declared Carson as he quickly stepped out of my room closing the door behind him.
I let out a low huff of air as I watched him just exit my room without another word, I mean I wasn't expecting him to fall over or anything but some sort of reaction would have been nice. I quietly took a peek underneath my robe and couldn't help but pout before covering myself back up.
I have never gotten dressed as quickly as I had tonight. I had successfully managed to slip into a my intimates, dress, heels and even laced on a thin bracelet all in less than five minutes leaving me a good minute and a half to put on some color shaded lip balm and panic.
My arranged fiance had just walked in on me naked and now I had to sit through a whole course dinner with him, his best friend and his royal parents, nothing to worry about; right?
I opened my bedroom door expecting to find Carson there waiting but there was no-one.
I could feel my shoulders slump down slightly in disappointment as I stepped out of my room closing the door behind me but just as I was about to turn into the hallway a familiar figure caught my eyes as it pranced impatiently from side to side muttering something to himself that I couldn't make out and for the first since I'd met him he finally looked.. human.
I smiled as I stepped forward in direction to the nervously filled Prince prancing before me as I stopped no more than three feet from him to clear my throat.
"Ahem" I teased with a smile as he turned around wide eyed to look at me and to my surprise he smiled right back.
"About time" he noted the smugness back in his voice with a smirk to match.
"Well you know if a certain someone knocked I would have been done a lot faster" I teased still aiming for that reaction.
Carson's face turned a new shade of pink at my comment before lightly clearing his throat and turning his body slightly to angle his arm with mine.
"Yes, well I suppose that could be true" he said putting his arm out for me.
I eyed him cautiously but still looped my arm through his anyways, "Unless a certain someone left their bedroom door unlocked in hope that certain events would occur." Accused Carson as he stepped forward guiding our way down the hall.
I gasped allowing a shaky breath to leave me as I turned to look at him, the side of his lips still curled in that smuggish smirk of his as we made our way to the start of the staircase.
"You are truly unbelievable" I stated through gritted teeth without even turning to look at him because if he still wore that smirk I'd just might do something crazy like smack it or worse kiss it.
"Am I?" he questioned as he came to a stop bringing me to one with him.
I gulped as I turned in his direction my eyes unwilling to meet his as he stepped closed to me, we were only half way down the stairs and quite frankly I was too scared to move forward or backwards so I only backed up until my backside hit the metal railing.
"Yes.." I muttered still unable to meet his eyes as he stepped even closer to me. I shut my eyes for a moment unsure of what he was doing and worse what I suddenly didn't mind him doing.
"Do I make you nervous, Levida?" he questioned.
I could feel him lean in closer, his breath brushing past me as it clashed against my slightly damped lips sending an all familiar shiver along my body as I suddenly felt my knees turn to jelly my hand immediately finding the railing behind me for support.
I shook my head slowly in response as I finally opened my eyes only to meet his, just as I thought he was no more than an inch away from me again and it was having that effect on me... again.
I swallowed as I stared into those eyes which only seemed to dance over me as his own hands now seemed to also find the railing behind me only his hands didn't fold over the cold metal instead they folded over my clutching hands as he stepped closer allowing his body to meet mine.
I sucked in my breath unable to move as I stared motionlessly at the man which only seemed to be closing the space between us and just as I was about to close my eyes and let whatever happened happen he stopped, his perfectly shaped lips curling into a knowing smile as he turned his head slightly towards the side of my face and ever so slightly pecked the lining of my high cheekbone.
"I'll take that as a yes" he hushed against my earlobe before finally taking a step back and with his hands in his pockets making his way down the remaining stairs.
I was once again left frozen in place as I slowly and carefully attempted to put together in my mind what had just happened.
I could still feel the heat of his body against mine and it was driving me insane as I tried to will my hands to unhook themselves from around the railing as I glanced down at the smug-filled expression plastered on Carson's face.
I exhaled slowly as I willed my body to move my right hand finally unhooking itself from the railing as I stepped down only to stumble over my own heel suddenly feeling very thankful for the left hand that was still clutching to the railing for life.
I glanced down at Carson hoping he'd missed my little fumble but of course he hadn't though his expression was serious as he made his way up the stairs and put his arm out for me.
I narrowed my eyes at him ignoring his arm as I continued my way down on my own as my body finally seemed to snap out of whatever trance it seemed to had been under before I was suddenly walking down like nothing happened.
I could hear Carson's laugh not too far behind me as he followed close behind and swiftly slipped his hand through mine completely ignoring my shocked expression as he quickly guided our entrance into the dinner hall hand in hand.
