To say that Carson was outraged by the day's events would be an understatement. The moment we stepped into the house he had been making his way down the hall that leads from the kitchen and was holding a glass of what I believed to be orange juice when he happened to look my way and it only took a second for the smile on his face to fall.

His eyes moved from me to Shannon who only leaned in to whisper for me to go to Carson who was already barely three feet from me. Wrapping my arms around him I allowed for him to hold me close as he ushered me up the stairs without a word.

We were in his bedroom in no time and it only took the click of a door for me to crumble.

I allowed my body to sink into itself as I dropped to the floor. "Oh, baby" I heard Carson say just before I was once more wrapped in the warmth that only he would bring me.

I don't know how long we stayed like that on the floor but I remember the feeling of being lifted and settled on a cloud that engulfed me in a scent so addicting it drove me wild even in my sleep. By the time I awoke, it was still dark out and I could feel Carson's arm draped over my waist with his hand resting on my lower abdomen.

Turning around as gently as I could I took in the silence allowing myself this moment to watch the man I love breathe without flicks of worry flashing through his eyes. God, I loved his eyes even now when hidden behind the most beautiful set of blonde lashes I couldn't help but stare at them. From the moment I met him those were the one thing, I wondered how I'd be able to resist. I was obviously never able to.

Brushing his hair away from his face I smiled remembering the story of how he got that bump on the bridge of his nose and how he hates the light dimples that shine bright and clear on his cheeks when he flashes his best smile a smile that I am graced with daily and hope I never have to go a day without.

"I don't know what I did right in this world to deserve you but I promise I'll grow thicker skin" I whispered, "I'll try my hardest to be more deserving and make you proud to have me by your side." sighing I pressed my forehead against his taking in his scent.

The next few days came and went faster than I would have ever expected. Carson's relationship with his mother had only worsened as he seemed to be convinced that she had something to do with the press frenzy we'd encountered on our outing.

Shannon tried to reason with him because as much as she hated his mother she wasn't too sure about that. She and Gina had done some research and seemed to think this had something to do with a teenagers blog that went by the name, 'Little Miss Koi'. The blog was mostly about art and fashion but they said they were keeping an eye on it in case an image of me popped up.

Carson had also become insanely protective over me and didn't want me leaving the house unless it was absolutely necessary and even went as far as to tell Shannon to tell Thomas Gala he'd have to make house calls. Which brought us to today.

It has been nearly two weeks since the incident meaning we were less than a week away from the ball so Tomas was stopping by the palace for the second time with the new and hopefully final adjustments done to the dresses.

Carson had also taken the liberty of appointing Shaw as not only my tutor but Gina and Tesla's as well. Wanting me to feel as comfortable as I could on the day of the ball he made sure I learned the names and titles of every guest and their partners. There were so many people coming to this event that I had no idea how I was going to remember so many faces, names, and titles.

Tesla, on the other hand, had it all down to a tee it had taken her less than a day to memorize the whole file Shaw had entrusted us with and believe me it had a lot more to do with the appointed teacher than with memory.
