I stared at Carson in amazement as he pushed past the door that would lead us into the dinning area my eyes automatically falling on the the three face's already seated as they all turned in our direction.
"Good evening" said Carson before leading me over to my seat beside his mother before making his way around and over to his own seat beside Shaw, who was staring at Carson in a; 'Who are you? And what have you done with my friend sort of way.
While Beatrice and Nikolai just stared in what seemed like amazement and all while keeping me completely and utterly dumbfounded.
It wasn't until Nikolai cleared his throat in a very loud and present manner that we all kind of snapped out of it and focused on him.
"Well it seems that today was eventful?" gestured Nikolai as he glanced over at his son with raised brows all while Beatrice practically beamed from the seat beside me.
There was a very familiar smirk on Carson's lips for a moment but it silently faded as he turned to look at his father. "I haven't a clue what you mean" he stated before turning over to one of the house maids as she entered the dinning area with a pitcher of water in her hands stopping to pour some for each of us.
I could tell by the way Nikolai sighed that he wasn't at all pleased with his sons response but had no intentions of pushing him, at least not now.
The first half of our meal had been over and done with as we all waited for our desserts to arrive when Beatrice suddenly turned my way with a very large and happy smile.
"Oh, Levida I almost forgot" she began as she rose from her seat and ever so elegantly made her way over to one of the small tables by the fire place where she picked up a small bag and made her way back over to the table.
"Here" she chirped as she handed me the small white gift bag which was laced with a delicate pink ribbon along the middle of it, "Nikolai and I thought it best you to have this at hand. You would need a new one soon enough anyways so we figured now better than later."
I wasn't sure of what to say or do so I simply extended my hand to take the small package from her hand as I brought it down to my lap, "What is it?" I asked still feeling awkward about it.
"Open it, dear." She grinned as she took her seat beside me once more now placing her napkin back over her lap returning her attention back to me.
I looked up to look at Carson who to my surprise was already looking right at me, his eyes once again unreadable as he looked at me curiously.
I opened my mouth to say something but didn't as I just looked down at the small bag on my lap and opened it, my eyes immediately trying to figure out what I was looking at as my hand slipped in to reach for it.
I could feel the wrinkle of my brow as my fingertips came in contact with the cold metal in the bag as my hand pulled in out for my eyes to finally see, it was a phone.
I looked at Beatrice and then at Nikolai not sure of what they were trying to tell me with this gift.
"Thank you" I said, "But I don't understand I mean my phone works just fine, you didn't have to do this." I assured them still confused but wanting to understand as I looked down at the fully functioning rose gold color phone. It looked like the iPhone yet there was no brand stamp on it.
Odd
"We know your phone works dear and we're sure your parents won't stop paying for it any time soon but we just felt that now being in Denmark there were some contacts that you would need to have in check so they have all been in-listed into your contacts list under both name and picture. This of course includes both my personal number and Nikolai's as well as Carson and even Shaw" stated Beatrice leaving me with quite a bit to process.
