I could feel my brother tense up beside me but more than that I could feel my own body tense losing all ability to move or react I felt the warmth of my brothers head on my shoulder turn to ice as he lifted his head from it but I still had no reaction no breath no words why couldn't I say anything and why on earth was my mother smiling.

How could she be smiling at something like this... had she agreed to it? No what mother would. It was impossible. "Impossible" I muttered under my breath still frozen in shock.

"No, not at all my dear they've already set everything up for you and you are to depart for Denmark the day after tomorrow where you will-" her words were interrupted by the shattering sound of a teacup hitting the marble floor beneath me and though I could feel the stinging hot liquid seeping into my skin and soaking through my heel, that couldn't compare to the stinging pain inside of my chest in no way could it ever compare.

"Levi!"Shouted Kevin as he quickly noticed the hot tea hit the bare skin of my foot and went for its aid, "Levida!" Shouted my mother after him causing me to blink finally snapping out of my trance.

"Kevin careful with her foot and Levida you need to try to be more careful burns do scar and what kind of Royalty holds a scar." The way those words left my mother so carelessly as she moved past my brother to try and take a look at my foot so incredibly unaware of her words.

"Don't touch me" I muttered softly in a low voice as I was just now beginning to find it, "Levida don't be a child let me see" she continued and I don't know what happened at that moment, was it my own anger my shock or simply her own obliviousness to what she had just announced to her daughter but I lost it.

"Don't touch me!" I shouted towards my mother yanking my foot from her grip and pulling away from her the numbing pain in my foot turning into nothing but a soft tickle, "Don't you dare put a finger on me until you tell me that you didn't agree with such an arrangement!" I demanded as I got myself up to my feet my brother quickly coming to my side.

"Levida quit acting like a child and let me put the burn cream on that before-" I didn't let her finish, "Before it scars? It's my foot mother I'm pretty sure I can handle an extra freckle on my body but right now I need you to tell me that you didn't dare agree to give my future away!?" I was angry I had never screamed at my mother like this never like this not with this much pain and anguish squeezing at my heart as I waited hearing nothing but her silence.

"Mom?" I could feel the tears stinging my eyes as I turned to my last hope, "Dad?" but there was nothing there was no one in this house.

"Levida" my mother began but I wouldn't let her continue I didn't want to listen I didn't want to hear anything she had to say I shook my head turning away from my mother and father quickly making my way towards the stairs my brother close behind me or at least I thought he was.

"The etiquette classes" I stopped as I heard my brother's voice speak up, "That's what they were for wasn't it? You were teaching us from day one how to properly behave and act before others. The tutors, the private lessons. Those ridiculous polo lessons." I could feel myself gasping for air as the air in my lungs collapsed realizing everything he was saying was true.

"You were training your daughter for her future position yet you allowed her to go to school to make friends, and meet people not caring that she would one day have to just leave it all" I was hanging onto every word that left my brother but what came next was something I wasn't prepared for, he laughed.

My brother's hands came up before him in a clapping motion as he clapped loudly, "You really have outdone yourself this time mom, bravo." with that said Kevin silently moved away from her and made his way towards me as he wrapped one arm around my waist and helped me up the stairs towards my room but of course our mother had to have the last word.
