Shikamarus pov
"shikamaru do I look ok? I want to look presentable when I see the girls again"
Today we were meeting Nejis cousins hinata and hannabi at ichitaku ramins and you could say nejis a little nervous about the meeting.
I gently cupped his face "you look fine sweetheart. Just like you always do"
"thanks shikamaru" he blushed slightly. God he's so perfect. I'm so scared of losing him forever.
"alright we're here!" a fermillier voice yelled causing neji to hide behind me. I turned around to see...
"naruto? What are you doing here" I asked as my long time friend naruto came up to me with a blue haired girl and brown haired child beside him.
"oh my girlfriend hinata is meeting up with her missing cousin neji" he said wrapping an arm around the blue haired girl "what are you doing here buddy?"
Before I could answer neji popped his head out from me.
"nii-chan" hinata covered her mouth as tears appeared in her eyes. She ran up and hugged him "thank goodness. Thank goodness your ok!" she cried into his chest "I'm so sorry for leaving you"
"please don't apologise hinata. It should be me who's sorry. I'm the one who forgot you all" neji said tearfully.
"what do you mean by that big cos" hannabi asked.
"he got anmessa after he ran away from home" I explained "I've been looking after him ever since"
"I see" hinata turned and bowed politely "thank you for taking care of my cousin kind sir"
"it was nothing" I muttered.
"that's shikamaru for you. He's always secretly been a softy" naruto chuckled
"yeah yeah" I rolled my eyes fondly at him.
"neji thanks to naruto we now have a safe place to stay" hinata took nejis hand "we can live together now!"
My heart began to sink. Its everything I feared. I'm going to lose neji forever! But at least he'll be happy-
"I'm sorry hinata but I'm not going to live with you" neji pulled his hand away from hinata. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He's refusing to live with his beloved cousin?
"but why?" hinata teared up "have I done something wrong?"
"no not at all" neji said reassuringly "it's just..." he turned slightly red "I've fallen in love with shikamaru and I wish to continue living with him"
"neji" I couldn't control myself. I ran up at hugged the boy with tears in my eyes.
Hinata smiled at us "I understand nii-chan. The way you feel about shikamaru. I feel the same way about naruto-kun. You can continue living with him but please promise we'll still see each other"
"of course we will hinata" neji took her hand "I'll never leave your side again"
I couldn't help but smile at them. Their such a wholesome family. I'm glad I allowed neji to return to them.
Naruto placed his hand on my shoulder "I think this is cause for celebration. Let's eat some ramin!"
