Chapter 27: Beast

The final bandage wrapped, you slip past him and limp away. You wince.
"I don't think youre-" bill starts, watching you.
You fiddle with the door handle for a bit, trying to open it. He stands behind you, opening it.
"Thanks" you mutter.
You limp down the hallway.
You turn back and look at him, he looked disappointed, but knew a lot had gone on today so didn't bother stopping you. He understood.
"I don't think you should go alone" he calls.
You shake your head and begin limping down the road. Dark forest around you. It was sundown, sun had already stopped going through the trees.
You gulp, he just stood watching you until the house was out of sight.

You almost fall through the door, dragging yourself to your room.
You sigh as you lay on your bed. Your head was racing, heart pounding. So much to take in. For now you didn't want to see or hear him. You just needed time to think about it. Who knew someone so beautiful could turn into a beast such as that.
