Remus stared back at the sky, attempting to get himself under control, but failing miserably. It was hopeless, he was a complete mess. People back in London could probably hear his heart beating, and the glow of his cheeks was practically taking the place of the absent moon. It sure was a good thing that the moon was as absent as it was. Remus sure coun't imagine going through this when he already wasn't at full strength.

Romance. She said something about romance. That's what he wanted, wasn't it? She said something about him and romance? What did that mean? Remus closed his eyes, and attempted to take a deep breath. OK, what did she mean. Upon reopening his eyes back up, Remus forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm pretty hopeless at romance." He admitted, not quite sure if that was exactly a good idea. Yeah, go ahead and admit to the person who you're trying to win over despite the fact that you don't know her name and she knows yours that you're awful at romance. Brilliant idea. How did the girl figure it all out so quickly? He wasn't being that obvious that he was attempting to be romantic, and that he was genuinely awful at it. This was not good.

"Ummm... I dunno." Remus answered. Would he fall in love with the epitome of female perfection? Maybe, or maybe not. Seeing as he was a guy, probably not. Seeing as he had successfully not fallen for anyone until aproximately an hour ago, it was hard to say. He didn't exactly know what types of people he fell for... except for the fact that she apparently liked mythology. And he didn't know her name. Even though she knew his. And she was standing right next to him. And he had just admitted to her that he was hopeless at romance. And he was supposed to make her fall for him. Even though he knew it wasn't going to work. So, would he fall for Aphrodite? Hopefully not... that would make things too complicated. It would probably be even trickier with her though... Aphrodite was probably a whole lot more experienced in romance than the girl who was standing next to Remus who's name he didn't know even though she knew his.

"Yeah... Veelas does sound like Venus." Remus grinned. "I'd never actually thought of that before." He admitted, shrugging his shoulders. It was true, the words were very similar. "It just makes sense. I mean, they both seem to have the same effect of people. Though, I would assume that Venus' was far stronger, seeing as she was a goddess." Remus said, grinning now. How was it that he could be almost normal talking about greek mythology, but otherwise, he couldn't put two thought together. "I feel sort of sorry for all of the greek guys who saw her." He grinned, though that had never been that true before today. Before today, he thought that it was actually pretty funny. Now he knew exactly what it felt like to be utturly captivated by something he couldn't control. Even in his own element, Remus still wasn't normal. He was still practically hyperventalating.

"Mythology is so much fun. The ancients were such brilliant storytellers. Sometimes it makes me wonder if the greek gods were real... it seems practically imhuman to come up with things like that." Remus said with admiration. If he had to state any religion he follwed, greek or roman would probably be higher on his list than any modern religion. Not that he really followed any of them. Yet, praying to Venus for a little help at the moment wasn't that far from his mind. If he was going to win over a girl who he didn't even know, even though she apparently knew him, it would be with her blessing. In fact, if he managed to not make the worst impression in the history of mankind, he probably needed her help. Sadly, the goddess probably wasn't real. Yet, if she was, it would make things fo a whole lot smoother.

Remus turned back to the sky, sending a pleading glance at the bright planet. It was silly. He was begging for the help of an ancient goddess. Not even Aphrodite herself could save him now. He was truly hopeless at romance. Somehow, someway he had fallen hard for a girl who's name he didn't know. Somehow, he had ended up talking to her about the greek goddess of love. Somehow, it ended up that she knew his name. Somehow, it ended up that Remus would be willing to bet money that this mythology loving gorgeous girl could hear his heartbeat. There was no way that she couldn't see how red his face was. It had to be obvious how much of a mess he was right now. If only she knew that he wasn't normally like this...

"I love the Oddesey too!" Remus grinned, upon hearing the name of one of his favorite heroes. "I also like the Illead, Hercules, Theseus, Atalanta, Pandora, and the founding of Rome." He said, listing off most of his favorite myths. "Also Io and Argus is hilarious, and if the story of Ceaser counts as Mythology I like that one too." He added, thinking of each story as he named it. They were heroes, romantics, and sometimes villains too. Almost every story had a moral, or some other kind of exciting twist. There were happy endings, sad endings, and endings that were hardly endings at all. Each one was so amazing, and the all seemed to tie into reality. He knew that Rome had really been founded (even though the story could be quite disturbing sometimes. Twiniside wasn't very appealing).

The voice of the girl sent Remus back down to the earth and away from ancient Greece and Rome. He looked back at her and felt his cheeks flare up again. She was talking. About Eygpt. "You've been there?" He said, in pure amazement. "I've never gone that far from England. " Remus continued, his voice still full of awe. The girl had actually been to the Pyramids. They were definately high on his list of places he wanted to go, but due to his condition would probably never be able to. It was just too far away to be in for less than a month.

"I've been to Rome though. It was tons of fun, the coffee is great, ancient stuff is all around, and the coffee is ambrosial." He grinned, recalling the trip he'd taken for a month during the summer after his first year at Hogwarts. His parents had given the trip to him as a reward for doing so well in his first year at boarding school. Those weeks in Rome had been among the best of his life.

Remus couldn't help but wince at the description of the curse. "That would be cool if it wern't so disgusting." He said, grimacing slightly. It seemed like a pretty awful death, one of the worst he could think of. "How do you reckon they got the Scarabs to eat the people? I mean, they don't normally eat people, right?" He asked, still slightly disgusted. Egypt had never been one of his stong spots, but there was no denying that their magic was superb.

"Wow... reminds me of King Arthur a little." Remus grinned, thinking of another of his favorite legends. "You know, how Lancelot was in love with Gwenevire, who was married to Arthur, who Lancelot was the top knight of?" He rambled slightly, taking a little comfort in the medeival story. So, he was still struggling to keep himself sane, but Remus was at least having fun talking about myths. If it had been anyone else he was talking to, it would have been a great conversation. Why did his future soulmate have to be someone who should have been his friend? If only he could just ignore it. If only he could ignore the fact that his heart was beating 10 million miles an hour. If only he could ignore how short his breaths were, and of scrambled his mind was. If only Remus could ignore the fact that every time he looked at this beautiful stranger, he got so excited that he nearly passed out. If only he knew her name. If only she didn't know his. If only so many things that could never happen. In another life this might have turned out okay. In this life, he was hopeless.

Prank wars? What prank wars? Remus didn't even like prank wars! This meant she didn't just know his name. She actually knew him! Yet, he was so positive that he had never seen her face before today. Why did he have to be such an idiot? Why did he have to forget her? Why did she have to remember him? Why couldn't this have just turned out OK? Why did Remus have to be mortified in front of her of all people? Why did all of this have to happen to him?

She was insulted. She had turned away. Remus had blown it. "Well... there goes that chance." He muttered, his heart sinking all the way to his feet. Yet, it was only beating faster with every passing second. He felt as if his chest would burst in any second. All of Remus' thoughts were blurring together so fast he couldn't even remember what he was thinking. His breathing grew as fast as his heart rate? Why was he getting more excited all of a sudden? Shouldn't it all be over now that he blew his chance with the beautiful mythology lover? Why couldn't he just avert his eyes? His body was completely out of his control, as was his mind. He had blown it. He had blown his chance with her. He had blown his chance at making it through the year. He still had to win her over. Well, that had a snowman's chance in hell. "I'm sorry." He muttered, closing his eys to try to stop the barracade of thoughts. If only he had gone straight to bed after eating. If only he didn't mention that he didn't know her name. If only he hadn't looked over to her table at the feast. If only he hadn't gone into the forest that day eleven years ago. If only he hadn't lost sight of his dad to go check out something he saw in the bushes. If only fate was on Remus' side for once. Yet, all the if onlys in the world couldn't change a think. Upon not knowing the name of the girl who he needed to make love him, Remus' entire life went down the drain.
