OK... this was going fine. There were no threats of being shoved off of the tower yet. In fact, the mystery beautiful slytherin girl didn't even tell Remus to shut up and go away just yet. Actually, this might even be the best case scenario. After all, hi was pretty much the best answer that you could expect to get after saying hi to a stranger.
Now, the only question was how to respond. How is someone supposed to reply to someone responding to them saying hi? If there was one question in the world that Remus didn't know the answer to, that was the one. Why did he even bother to try to strike up a conversation. Remus knew very well that he was absolutely terrible with people.
Remus felt himself start to blush again. Thank god it was almost a new moon... that way she couldn't see. Just looking at this mysterious made him feel almost sick. His breaths were shorter than normal, and he was sure that people could hear his heatbeat a mile a way. Just as long as he didn't phisically get sick it would be fine... maybe
Once again, Remus' brain told his body to leave. Once again, his muscles refused to obey him. It was probably a good thing actually. Walking up and saying hi, getting a response and then just walking away was a little weird, wasn't it? So, he was stuck here, with no idea of what to say at all.
If Remus had ever felt like an idiot, he did now. This was quite possibly one of the worst fixes that he had ever gotten himself into. The worst had happened when he was six and being attacked. He had almost died that night, but his father had gotten there just in time to save his life. Remus still felt the repricussions of that terrible night every day. The only other time he had ended up in a really bad situation was when he had about five minutes until moonrise and was fast asleep in the common room. That one had almost turned out very badly, but luckily James Potter had completely saved Remus' butt on that one.
Yet, this time there was nobody around to save Remus' skin this time. The only other person around was the gorgeous stranger girl. There was nothing she could possibly do to save him, except for possibly walk away, but that would never happen. Anyway, even if she did, it wouldn't stop Remus from doing a really, really, really bad job of making a terrible impression on the girl who he had to make fall in love with him.
When the girl opened her mouth, Remus knew that destiny was on his side. So... maybe he was wrong. The girl did end up saving his hide. She actually initiated a conversation other than the exchanging of the word hi. So... now the girl who Remus had to win over was also his savior. He still didn't even know her name.
Remus needed to pull his act together. The girl wouldn't save him again. But... what was he supposed to say. Well... first of all, answer the question. Remus took a deep breath, coaching himself through the situation. "Yeah... it really is nice out." He answered. Of course, it would have to be more than a question and answer. "It's almost a new moon." Remus commented, the first thing the popped into his head. It was true... it also happened to actually be related to what the girl had said. This was turning out fine.
