As she walked out the great hall, the pressure faded somewhat and she looked around herself, taking a deep breath. The fresh air that wafted up her nostrils did her good – after smelling all that food and wax and carbon dioxide in the air. It was good to get some oxygen in the lungs as well. And that was just what Thea was about to do. With another deep breath she gently closed the doors to the great hall behind herself and turned to the direction of the astronomy tower. It might be a distance from the Slytherin common room, but she didn’t care – she only wanted to get some fresh air after all.
Her footsteps were echoing as she walked down the corridors, up the staircases and her shoe-heels were clicking on the stone floor as she trudged up to the towers. The doors to her final destination creaked on its hinges as Thea pushed them open. The sun set a while ago and it was all dark outside, with stars fluttering around the night sky, with an almost waned moon. It was hardly a sliver of the silver moon to be seen as Thea leaned her elbows on the tower wall and took in her surroundings. It was simply beautiful to look at the grounds at night – the lake was coloured black and there were a few waves with stars flickering on the surface of the water.
The forest was whispering in the night, the trees swaying in the moderately gentle breeze that was circling around, making Thea’s hair softly wave behind her as she leaned her head back to gaze at stars. With her brown eyes she located the Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, the Orion and the Corona Borealis constellations. There was even a planet to be seen in the sky, what with its blazing glory that made it shine far more than a normal star.
Thea sighed as she moved so that her head was resting on her palms while her upper body was leaning on her elbows as she stared up at the starry sky. Somehow, just watching the sky calmed her down. If she could, she would stare at it forever – it was a shame that day had to come. She wouldn’t mind if it she could live in the night forever – if she was allowed to watch such beauty, then she wouldn’t mind at all.
