The head of the one she was observing cocked itself slowly as if the receiver of her smile wasn’t sure what was going on. Thea almost rolled her eyes at that, but stopped herself before she really did it. It sure wouldn’t go over nicely if she did it, would it? Remus would probably think she only smiled at him to confuse him… okay, he looked confused anyway. Why would he look confused over a smile that was sent his way anyway? Who in the world would feel confused by it? Anthea had no idea what to think about that. Most people would just smile back or… do something! Okay, so he did something – he blushed. Thea felt her smile widen at that, but it must have gone missed since the person who was blushing looked down at the table just as she stretched her lips.
Her smile stretched even further when he took a quick glance at her. It was almost like he was the girl and she was the boy… he was so shy! And he was adorable while blushing. It was Thea that cocked her head this time as she wondered why he was looking at her in a way that almost made her squirm. He never looked at her that way before – or to say it more simply – he didn’t even notice she existed until now and she was a good friend to both Sirius and James. Pha, how insulting could that be? She almost humphed aloud at that, but stopped herself from getting too annoyed with Remus the Oblivious. Instead she poked her fork into the salad and took a bite while sending him a wink with a mischievous smile.
Then she concentrated back on her meal, while trying to ignore the eyes that were on her. Suddenly she felt a bit overwhelmed. It was the first time Remus Lupin looked at her like that after all – and the first time that he looked at another girl like that, as far as she knew – he just didn’t notice girls… It was strange really. She moodily poked her spoon into the dessert once it was served and put it into her mouth, letting the chocolate taste flow through her mouth and closed her eyes in pleasure. There was nothing compared to the taste of chocolate, she decided.
When she felt full, she pushed the empty bowl where the ice-cream was in away from her and stood up. She was the only one to do so, because the feast hadn’t finished yet. But she didn’t care – she just wanted to get away from all the people to think in peace of what just transferred. It was kind of mind blowing for her. And heart blowing too – she had long resigned herself to be invisible to Remus and suffered for that. And now that he actually noticed her (at least she hoped he did) it was like the world turned itself upside down and her heart was fluttering in her chest as she dared a small sliver of hope blossom in her chest.
However, she wouldn’t be Anthea Holmes if she let herself go that easy. If he was interested in her, he would have to do a damn good job in trying to ‘woo’ her. Yup. That was a great idea – let him suffer as she suffered. Of course, only if he was interested, which might not be the case. With that in mind, she sent another look at the boy in question and walked out the hall.
((OOC: lol, it sure sounds so.))
